Title: Dust N Bones on Live Era
Post by: ChrisPittman on March 19, 2007, 06:47:46 AM
Now, we all know that Izzy sings vocals on this track on the studio version, yet on the Live Era version it was decided to use the version with Duff on vocals. I dont understand why this happened, since Duff and Slash and Axl were all involved in the recording process and obviously it would have made more sense to use Izzy's vocals? If not, why didnt they use 14 Years? And surely this song wasnt re-recorded?

Man, where does it say that it's Duff on vocals?

It's Izzy, it's from the Ritz of 91, i.e. the third of the three secret shows they played.  If you listen to the bootleg version, Axl introduces "Mr Izzy Stradlin takin' the lead on vocals" and also, Slash never sings lead (aside from one track on the spaghettie incident?) and duff only sings lead on a studio demo of the song.

Buick Makane.  He shares lead with Axl.

See the sleeve, and here (http://www.gnrsource.com/songinfo/tsi/buick.htm) for more info.

I'm not sure what he says, but it's somethign like "Alright now let's fucking (something)"

It's not Duff's gonna  take it away...

And actually is either Izzy or remotely maybe Duff saying it...

Can any american translate this please?  :peace:

Watch that man, it's the live era version, and you can clearly make out it's Izzy singing, definetely not Duff.

Thank you very much, this settles this topic....

That was a great performance, I just wish we had a pro-shot of any of the two new york city shows at the ritz 91

Yeah that'd be really cool.  Sadly, if it's out there, it's being kept well hidden.
