I went to a GnR website that had the Chinese Democracy Finishing stages. they had Recording, Mixing, Mastering, Promotion, and Release what was interesting thing is they have Recording and Mixing crossed out.  Well we all know that the recording is done but they had mixing crossed out which I haven't heard anything about so take it as you will.

give some more details, most likely crap but hey, what's the website?

They had that they were in the process of mixing, then they changed the format a bit and had it crossed out instead of "In the process..."

yes, it still said "in progress" about a 1/2 hour ago. It must have just changed

How exactly does "unconfirmed" news get released? Is  it like, I was in the bathroom and heard some guys talking? If one of  hte mixing engineers leaked the news, then it would be confirmed, right? Or is confirmed  only allowed by GNR management  and the band, which most likely would  not comment and not confirm how the process  is going?

indeed. it just means it hasnt been officially confirmed by the band yet.

Actually, call me a cynic, but would it be goin to pressing so soon after we heard mixing was happening? i mean, that, presumably, would mean it has already gone to the label and thhat we're quite a way into the "approximately 8 weeks" period, wouldnt it...?

i say this on the basis that i wouldve thought everyhting else would have to be sorted before pressing - from direct musical production to the businessy stuff...?

this is nothing insider & no concrete information...

i added the finishing stages part while re-designing (if you can call it that ) the newgnr start page... i thought it would be ok to cross out mixing since they've been at it for more than 3 weeks now. yknow, just something for the random john q. gnr fan coming from search engines to see where about the album work is at.

i didn't expect it would send the champagne corks flying around here.  ;D
