Title: I Mother Earth Post by: Eazy E on March 13, 2007, 07:21:35 PM Did they ever make it in the U.S.?
I just copied all their old CDs to my ipod and it's GOOD. I'm suprised such a diverse rock band wasn't more popular. Is anyone a fan? I've been playing "So Gently We Go" over and over and over, I love the build-up. : ok: Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: AxlsMainMan on March 13, 2007, 07:48:55 PM They were great while they lasted.
The Quiksilver Meatdream is "different" to say the least, but I love it as much as their other albums. I haven't listened to TQSM nearly as much as the other CDs, but I agree it is very good. I remember listening to Dig on cassette when it first came out, so I have the fondest memories of all those songs. Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: Neemo on March 16, 2007, 10:48:50 AM I like them before Edwin left...afterwards they dont do much for me
they rock though, i saw them live a couple times....so much energy it rocked ;) "Used to Be Alright" and "Rain will fall" are 2 of my fav tunes by them : ok: Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: stinson4ever on March 16, 2007, 03:05:29 PM never heard of them. when were they around

Brian Byrd (vocals) released a solo album last year, so I guess we'll see how the solo career plays out before we hear from IME again.. :hihi: Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: hellfirecan on March 18, 2007, 11:54:12 AM They were big up here in Canada in the 90's until their original singer left for solo work. I didn't like the new singer too much or the material they released with him. Their stuff with Edwin, the original singer is solid stuff. I still enjoy listening to that stuff today.
"Not Quite Sonic" is still one of my favourite tunes.... Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: Eazy E on March 19, 2007, 08:36:58 PM I was looking into what the band was upto now... I guess Edwin just released another solo album not too long ago. I thought the singles off the first CD were good despite being different in style to I Mother Earth's stuff. I remember when he put his second solo album out too, "Edwin and the Pressure", but for the life of me I can't recall a single song from it...
Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: AxlsMainMan on March 20, 2007, 05:24:21 PM I think he put out two singles from it, but the only really big one, and the one Im sure your thinking of was called "Superhoney." : ok:

"Superhoney" is the name that I recognize. I just downloaded that song and one called "Firecracker" off that CD, they actually sound pretty good! Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: hellfirecan on March 22, 2007, 06:28:17 PM ^check out "Not Quite Sonic", "One More Astronaut"...good tunes
They came out when a whole bunch of good Canadian bands with three word names were all over the airwaves up here. I Mother Earth, Our Lady Peace, Age of Electric, Grapes of Wrath, Matthew Good Band, The Tragically Hip (still rockin' and still awesome), The Tea Party, Wide Mouth Mason Title: Re: I Mother Earth Post by: AxlsMainMan on March 22, 2007, 06:42:50 PM I think he put out two singles from it, but the only really big one, and the one Im sure your thinking of was called "Superhoney." : ok: Thanks!... I think he'd make a great opener for Gn'R. |
