It's not about who's better. It's about who's dumb enough to care what some music magazine thinks.

No really. It's about who's "wildest". And their wild-o-meter showed readings like that.

Not that I'm not appreciating Dimebag's skillst, but have you notice that after his death he's a lot higher in these lists?

  Jees, Kurt Cobain again...

Dimebag deserves every accolade he gets.  IMO, he wouldn't fall far from his current standing regardless of his tragic death.

I'm likin Buckethead's position on the list...but he should be top 10 for sure.  Just look at his work on Nightrain...and his brilliant solo albums.

Hetfield and Richards? ?I love both of these guys but I thought they were more of a rythme than a lead on guitar. ? I didn't think a lot of rythme guitar players would make it. ?Is this going by most likable or coolest or writing ability?

Where is Zakk Wylde on that list!!? He should replace Cobain.
And what happened to Jake E Lee, Jerry Cantrell, and Angus Young!!?

That greasy haired fuckwit coward EMO is ALWAYS in the top 10! UGH! I may just go become executive of a music mag just so I can make sure that he doesn't get to be on it!

Is Mustaine on the list?  Mustaine>Hetfield.  A vastly superior guitarist and MegaDave's little toe is crazier than Hetfield.

Om, I am so fucking sick of seeing Kurt Cobain's name. If you consider "Mexican Seafood" or whatever the fuck else he did a great song with great guitar work and singing, follow his path and kill yourself.

absolutely, it's like these people never hear of some real guitar players...

where is Jhon Petrucci, Marty Friedman, Dave Murray....  Dave Mustaine by far some of the greatest guitar players rhythm and lead... all of them are not that wild looking though... if that's what they mean... looks...

I never got into Nirvana myself, but there's no denying Cobain was a great artist and a huge musical talent.? That's why Axl was so in love with him.? Just because you dislike the guy personally, I don't think you can take away from what that guy created.

If Axl gave an interview tomorrow where he proclaimed Cobain to be his hero, I wonder how many gunners' opinions of him would instantly change...

I actually hate to see him wearing the stupid Nirvana cap in the making of Don't Cry

Mine wouldn't change, the few Nirvana songs i like will remain that few   :peace:

Off topic...

I also forgot Steve Vai and Jason Becker

yeah!!

Cobain is known for songwriting.  I don't think anyone will remember Cobain for his guitar playing ability or his vocal range.  I certainly won't.  Give credit where it's due, he helped change music's direction in the early 90's, but his guitar playing abilities pale in comparison to everyone else on the list.  He doesn't belong on this list.

Thought of another...

Robert Johnson. The bluesman who supposedly sold his soul to the Devil at the crossroads to be able to play guitar, and was murdered by one of his many girlfriends!

He was the first!! He did it way before anyone else ever did!! 1927 he did that in!! He should be at the top of the list!

I know. Cobain was really nothing special, I really don't see him being even in top 100.

I like seeing Slash and Bucket right by eachother though, both excellent players.

But, my list wouldve been totaly different, I think Page might be better than jimi and hes definately better than keith in my book.

I laughed when I saw Buckethead was one higher than slash.
