Awesome, GH is a great drunk game. I almost smashed the hell out of the guitar controller the other night, now w/ GNR in the game the risk of that happening becomes even greater.

That game is AWSOME!!!!!! I was hoping for A Gn'R song at the second version, and I was cure that SCOM would be the choosen one...

Tool was also stated to be in negotiations to throw a song in (they're guitar player is an open fan of the game).
Also, in the new issue of OPM (Official Playstation Magazine), it mentions "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against the Machine as one of the songs in the game. It is yet to be confirmed by RedOctane.

One other tidbit is that Buckethead once had a film on his website of him playing the game as well.

The vocals are absolutely terrible.

They get people to cover the song for the game and on Guitar Hero 1, Sum 41 and Franz Ferdinand had really terrible singing.

I never understood the point to this game, why would people wanna play guitar by pressing 4 buttons, instead of learning how to play an actual guitar...

i play bass, so i do play an instrument, I'll use it for those late nights when u can't jam coz of neighbors!

Kerrang asked their readers to vote for their number one guitar hero, and published it this week with an article about the game. As one might expect, what could have been a positive article about Slash and his contribution to GNR and the rock world was used as a platform for slagging off Axl and his performance at Download.

The difference in singer may be intentional, or even contractual.

If you watch the "extras" in the first game, the developers talk about how some artists (many, actually) built into the contract that the representation of the song couldn't be too "perfect"...that the developers had to build in some things to differentiate the songs from the original recordings. ?GnR may have done something like that with the singers voice...asked red octane and/or harmonix to ensure that it didn't sound TOO close to the AFD version.

One thing, though, is that Primus, for GHII, actually let the developer use their master tapes/recordings for thier song in the game. ?I think that pertains to the vocals, too.

So far, from what I've seen of the list for GHII (26 of the 55 songs), it's a pretty broad, and very, very good, list. ?Besides SCOM I'm looking forward to "Wayward Son" by Kansas, "Mother" by Danzig, "War Pigs" by Sabbath, "Crazy on You" by Heart, and "Bad Reputation" by Thin Lizzy.

You can buy a version of GH2 with the guitar controller for about $70 to $80.  It looks like a red version of the guitar that the original GH came with.

Or, if you have the original GH (and, thus, already have a guitar controller), you can buy the game for $50.

Release is Novemeber 7th for the PS2 and sometime in early '07 for the Xbox 360 and, possibly, the Nintendo Wii.

There is a playable demo with 4 songs on it in this months Official Playstation Mag (I got to play it a few weeks back, actually, before the mag was out).  It has Strutter, YYX, Shout at the Devil, and You Really Got Me, on it and the songs span the difficulty range quite nicely.  The only problem is if you don't have the SG Guitar controller, you can only watch.

Dude I am definitely getting this. I think for me...Im going to get it for the Wii. I have a 360 too, but I plan on playing with my Wii all night. Seriously. My 360 even with Gears of War will be colleting dust once I start turning my Wii on. May not have as nice graphics but that shit is too fun.  :hihi:

Not into RTS games but, Halo 3 will be mine. But dude I am telling you. I waited 5 hours at E3 to play the Wii, and I can tell you personally, that Wii is fun shit. Its fun playing games like this. It may be getting harder for me to go back to just thumbstick analogs. Especially once I get a grip on FPS for it. I sold back Table Tennis because it felt clunky to me after play Wii Sports. And there is no game that is Zelda TP equal on anything.

To get back on topic, if GH 2 did come for the Wii they could add a bunch more gameplay options. Like someone else could hold 2 more Wii Remotes and simulate being the drummer.

Given the comments made from red octane about availability on next-gen systems, you're right.? But it's not yet been actually confirmed that it'll be on the Wii.? The 360 version has been.? That's why I said "possibly the Nintendo Wii".? Most of the signs point to it happening, but there's been no official word? yet.

Also, on an interesting note, there have been some comments made that lead one to believe that the 360 version (and, if it comes, the Wii version) will offer downloadable song packages...while the PS2 version will not.

I might actually achieve Nirvana if a complete GnR song package came out. :)

i'm really looking forward to this game, but not only because it has GNR on it, because its going to be a lot better than the first one.  better song list, and the option to play bass and rhythm.

Who is excitied about picking up Guitar Hero's 2 next month when it comes out for the 360?  Sweet Child will be one of the in game songs you can play and rumor has it the 1st batch of downloadable content will contain Jungle too. :)

Guys, try Frets on Fire, its a PC Clone of Guitar hero with a lot of downloadable, fanmade songs, and the ability to import songs from GH and GH2.

Yea Im totally excited. 360 edition owns the PS2 one in every way. The thing for me is this. They already mentioned a GH2 for the Wii. GH2 for the Wii can be so completely awesome if done right but they havent mentioned any specific features for it. For instance, they can add drums with the Wii (having you hold 2 Wii remotes for instance). Wii can do the downloadable songs as well. So I need to wait to hear what the Wii version will have before I decide whether I will get it for my 360 or my precious (Wii). Awesome if true about WTTJ. 360 version sounds fucking awesome. Better find out the info fucking soon because I want to play this shit.
