Title: Home Recording Questions..... Post by: Jimmy? on March 03, 2007, 05:17:51 PM Right, where to start!
Basically i need a decent bit of equipment to record onto my PC with (from home). Now i think what I need is an "Audio Interface". Correct me if wrong :hihi: I will mostly be recording guitar, bass and probably vocals so I obviously need an interface capable of inputting those instruments. I have both Firewire and USB 2.0 connections on my PC. I'm lookin' at spending roughly ?100 to ?200 on the interface. Also what's the best recording software out there. I've had experience with multi-tracks and shit, so i don't mind if it's a bit complicated! I know a few of you record at home so i just wanted to generate some opinions to help me decide, because i can't really try before I buy! 1) Best Audio Interface ?100 - ?200 2) Best Recording Software (any price) 3) Anything else I need to know about! Thanks in advance Jimmy Title: Re: Home Recording Questions..... Post by: D on March 03, 2007, 05:19:25 PM MBox2 costs 400 bucks and come with Pro Tools and some killer plug ins.
Somewhat expensive but it is excellent! Title: Re: Home Recording Questions..... Post by: Jimmy? on March 03, 2007, 05:27:57 PM Got any recordings i can check out. Obviously only ones that u used the MBOX2 to record with :hihi:
Title: Re: Home Recording Questions..... Post by: D on March 03, 2007, 05:57:30 PM I don't have any full recordings yet as I am still studying Pro tools and learning.
I don't think it is that difficult to learn if u have previous home recording experience. Loretian has some excellent recordings he did on Pro Tools using the first Mbox. Find his username and click on "All The Little things" I did "Concrete" on Pro Tools using my Mbox2 but I only recorded the guitar parts, I didn't use any of the Plug In's but the guitar sound quality is excellent, way better than the quality on my home recordings. Click on my "Myspace" link and u can tell a huge sound quality difference in Concrete and my other 2 songs. I used the same guitar and effects board on each recording.
