Isn't it about time for Axl or anybody from the GnR camp to finaly say at least one damn word on the CD release date issue? I mean something like "people will hear music this year" or "fall, late fall" or "it is this year" or "6428 tuesdays between now and the end of the world" ?I mean, anything will do, we're used to this kind of treatment anyway and March 6th is only 5 days away after all...

Until the record is in the store, don't hope for a release. Regardless of what people say, official or not.
I remember when that March 6 date was announced I felt no assurance or confidence that we would be seeing the album on that date. Lo and behold, here we are on March 1 and no album is in sight...

It's a joke really. I'm hoping for a release sometime this year but, even on that, I'm not confident.

I actually kinda prefer the silence  :-\  I'd rather have no news, then get a hint here, a quote there, someone saying it'll be out by... whenever, and then be disappointed.
I'm thinking Axl wants to keep it hush hush until there's something definite to tell us, since we've been disappointed so many times already.

My guess is it will be released within the next two months.
Axl said March 6th was a possibility when their were only three months (or not even) left. If everything went according to plan, March 6 would have been the release date.
Now we know the recording is done, so the extra two months should be enough for the mixing, artwork and promotion.

It seems like lately, the influx of new posters asking the same things has increased, and honestly its getting to be fairly old, and fairly annoying. Just please read things before you post. Hell yes. It has been literally days since the last announcement on the GnR website.. What they hell do they think they are playing at!! I want updates every two minutes. At the most.

Jarmo, my man...how pathetic...Just like Axl throwing a fan out of the crowd, right? Well, throw me out but I insist on getting an info regarding the cd status(specific info - son, fall and all that crap isn't good enough for the fans) and what is more important I insist on this guy respecting his fans.
So pal, your site is great - no question, but keep in mind - Axl is no God, and you're not his lawyer unless they pay you to act like this which I doubt... :beer:

Im sure others will post here as well, but this is a pretty dumb comment.  We all want the album, but you cant insist anything.  I hate that Axl leads the fans on etc...but seriously, its Axl's cd, its his life, its his legacy and he shouldnt jeopardize that or worry about the fans feelings.  Also I think Jarmo's point wasnt that you dont have a right to be mad, hes actually made several threads where people can voice all their disappointments and angry sentiments, however, you being mad isnt news.  We got a lousy (some thought it was great I thought it sucked) update a few days ago.  I am sure we will hear something before the end of March, because Axl is going to be on tour, but he owes us nothing and from everything he has ever said I dont think hes sitting in his room crying about what the fans think.  I do think its disturbing the only people really talking about this album have been in the band less than a year, but who knows.  Im as pessimistic as anyone, but I know I cant insist anything and know that you cant just make posts in the news section demanding CD info, its pointless and just makes people mad.

WOW...it's truly unreal that after so many years of waiting, and so many years of people complaining about something which they have no control over (CD's release), that people continue complaining.  Haven't you read ANY of Jarmo's posts?!  Just wait.  When it happens, it happens.  The more you look at the clock, and your calendar, the longer it takes.  The reason why Axl Rose is so in demand, and has been for so many years, is because he really doesn't give a shit what people want.  Just go with the flow, and when the album drops, hopefully there isn't anything else you'll need to complain about.

why would they announce something...are they working on an album or something? when did this happen?

ok i guess i was missundrestood.i am demently in love with guns and axl, i've heard a few tracks from chinese democracy and i really like them. i'm just anxious to see other's (not fans) reaction (i wana see some people doing this  :o and me...  :smoking: )

Why do some people take things to heart?. I mean, I don?t like the wait or the lack of news and all that,and I?d also want CD asap but I try to take things calmly. It?s not something that will affect your lives and just because you complain you are not going to get the record sooner. So, chill out, live your lives and enjoy what you have and then, when we less expect it we?ll have CD in our hands :)

Why is everybody bashing people who ask about an announcement? You know, in a "normal" world reading these lines:

"...With that being said, this is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee, but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6. This is the first time we have done this publicly for this album. Others have made up all the other dates for their own reasons. We would like to assure the fans that everything in our power will be done to meet this date. Once it is finalized and official, you will be notified. If we are delayed for unseen reasons, you also will be notified as soon as possible in regard to a new date, and the album will be released as shortly thereafter as is possible."

You would assume that March 6th would be the day and if the date is not met, then there would be an announcement ("if we are delayed... you will be notified asap...")

But since we live in the joke release CD world: we have to overanalyze every word and whoops, now we see that march 6th means absolutely nothing, we will be notified whenever it is finalized and official. When it is finalized and  official we will be told again that it is delayed. March 6th is nothing but one of these internal deadlines that are never met anyway.

Cmon, who in the "normal" world would read the letter like this?
Anyways, personally I am sick of all these waiting games and theorys....after the letter was written I just do not care anymore. I went to the fanpages nearly every day for so many years, but after the letter was released, I just do not care anymore. If it is released, fine, I will see it sooner or later in a store and buy it, but the enthusiastic excitement has died...

march 6 does indeed mean nothing, and i get that not from overanalyzing, but simply from reading the words in the satement. it says that we will be notified when there is an official statement, and then informed if there is a delay. thats what it says to me anyway, as i have pointed out at every possible opportunity so far.

personally, i dont get why people are confused about the fact that evrything you hear about the release date, no matter who from, is meaningless, unless there is an officcial announcement, and the record company - regardless of who that mau be - seem to be on board.

If there's an official announcement. I won't believe it either. 
until CD's is actually in my hand. Played it and Im really sure its not a Demo that we already have.
