Title: My Bumblefoot interview
Post by: Ron Jones on February 26, 2007, 06:13:55 PM
Bumblefoot was nice enough to disregard his minor irritation from all the e-mails and e-mail me back here it is.

Since everyone else is taking advantage of your kindness haha
LOL!-Bumblefoot

This just added to the site a few days ago << *If you wish to do an interview with Bumblefoot, please send your request to info@baldfreak.com for possible consideration. >>  OK, since your name is also RONALD, I'll do it this time...  lol
1. I realize you can't say very much about "The Album" but I thought that you might be able to answer this question that would shed a lot of light on the situation while still not saying too much. Since we all know that the album is being mixed, do you have any idea how far long in the process everything is? We have quotes that Andy Wallace was doing mixing in late 06 so some of us are hoping that this "mixing stage" is just mixing down yourself and Frank's recent additions.
No idea how far along, but I'm sure it's moving along nicely   :)
2. Did you actually write or help out with any of the arrangements that will appear on "the album" or did you just mainly add licks and solos?
mostly licks and solos....
3. Prior to joining Guns, had you heard any of the new material through live mp3s (A.K.A. are you a downloading motherfucker mr. bloomenthal or however you spell it haha)
I heard 30 seconds of IRS from a friend, nothing more...   I'm a very low-level DMF...
4. Were you suprised of the musical direction when you entered this project?
Didn't know what to expect, was very happy with what I heard...   :)
5. Warning this question is completely out of nowhere :). Are you a fan of Marilyn Manson's work? For some reason I can see some of the material on Chinese Democracy sounding like some of his work (see: Mechanical Animals and the song T.W.A.T.)
Yeah, Manson was pretty damn good - great band, really cool songs.
6. Did Frank get in any trouble for revealing the song title, "Broken"? haha.
That was a rumor, NOT true.  He never said that.
7. Have you ever been told that you should do cartoon voice-overs? (See the new version of Jungle Book not yet made with Ron Thal doing the voice of Baloo the bear.
YES, haha!   I sound like fucking Yogi Bear.
8. What are 2 items in Bumblefoot's cd collection that would make Bumblefoot fans feel uncomfortable? haha (98 Degrees, Menudo, Ricky Martin)
hmmmmmmm...    I don't know man, everything I listen to is pretty cool - Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, Manowar...
9. What does Mr. Bumblefoot see himself doing in 10 years?
Probably eating on a Talking Metal podcast, lol.
10. So all of us Guns N' Roses fans can get to know you a little bit better: Can you tell us one extremely strange habit or trait that you have that nobody knows?
If I told you, it wouldn't be a habit that *nobody knows*........

Thanks for posting. Ron seems like a nice guy and I hope people don?t annoy him too much with these things. He?s always been nice with the fans but if people start abusing his kindness he?ll be sick IMO.

Why don?t you guys just leave him alone. You won?t get any necessary information. I?m sure it won?t take long he gets sick of answering all the questions . It?s great he likes to answer all the questions but it would make more sense to ask him in a few months when he?s maybe able to talk about more details.

Sorry for my poor english.
Hope you see what i?m trying to say.

Why has BBF become the point man for GNR?

Because people think that they?ll get some info regarding CD from him and they try to be nice and all to try and see if they get something.

didnt del say "the band" are mixing the album? but bbf doesnt no the stage the mixing is at. so can we take it that del's statement isnt true, or that he was applying the strict legal definition of the term "the band" - i.e. Axl...?

meh. maybe he just meant it as a figure of speach.

bbf is one cool motherfucker for always replying but I think now would be a good time to stop the whole interview bombardement.
I mean do we really need like 10 of these "interviews" a week?...
