they need 2 keyboards for certain songs....in the making of videos dizzy or teddy talks about it....for NR they need 2 keyboards and a piano ot play it live....i'm assuming the new songs need them as well

as for Guitars...3 makes it sound bigger...and i'm assuming the new tracks are sufficiently complex enough to warrant 3 players

Sound, man, it's needed for the sound. Louder means  better.
(and the louder it is, the less noticeable  that Robin misses most  of  the notes). :hihi:

3 guitar players and a synth?

Live And Let Die - Piano, Synth
November Rain - Piano, keyboads,synth
Madagascar - Keyboards, synth
Better - synth section
The Blues - Piano, synth
IRS - synth
There Was A Time - keyboards, piano
Paradise City - synth

Ok, admittedly in a live arena, the extra guitarist isn't fully necessary and you could argue Dizzy and Pitman are only needed for a handful of songs, particulary as most songs are from Appetite. But all 8 are necessary for creating the album so, why not utilise them for the live arena? No point in having 'em sit at home. And yes they are needed for the album. Most songs we've heard contain synth parts, and the guitarsts are needed as follows

BBF - shred
Finck - blues rock solos
Fortus - Izzy style rhythm.

Athough obviously we'll know more when the album is released!

Lot's of point.

Synth isn't "too" important during live shows, but it's very important in the studio. That's why they got the synth playing guy in the band.
