Title: Rammstein thread Post by: lastroots on July 25, 2004, 04:58:50 PM The forth studio album by Rammstein, titeled "Reise, Reise" will be released on September 20. Their new single "Mein Teil" kicks ass as usual. I can't wait for the album. What do you think? Some Rammstein fans in here?

I have the DVD as well as the 2CD special edition album. The DVD "Lichtspielhaus" is awesome, too.
Btw, here in Germany they are promoted like hell. Or something like that! I rate Mutter very highly and they're without doubt a great act live. If this new album's better than Mutter it'll be great. If you haven't seen them check out the video to Feuer Frei, it's a good advert for them (bang! bang!). It just sounded fucked up to me that a good heavy rock band made their stuff with the German language..then I got the Mutter album and it just sounded so cool..all these heavy guitars and the raw edge of the language..then I learned out that this band ain't so shitty band after all..well I hate the language still 'cause I can't really make a one good sentence although I've studied it for 6 years. ;D

It's not good "propoganda," it's stupidity. I actually speak both English and German, and their lyrics are very intelligent from a German speaking perspective. There's a lot of play on words and double entendres, they play around with context and pronunciation to make for different and difficult translations. Anyone who doesn't understand or speak the originating language and does a straight up translation is sadly going to lose about 80% of the depth and meaning to their songs.

Btw. Anyone who spread the rumor that they are Nazis most likely did so just because they are German. Rammstein played countless free anti-fascist gigs and stated several times (including in the song Links 2-3-4) that they are anything but fascist/Nazi/whatever.
