Title: RapidShare
Post by: Jim on February 25, 2007, 01:32:57 PM
Does anybody have an account? Is it worth it? It's not a dodgy operation, is it...?

No, it's not worth it. (IMO)

Go to www.orbitfiles.com (http://www.orbitfiles.com), create a free account, get 1GB and share what you want.
Or try some of the other free file sharing servers.

How about if I'm more interested in the downloading of files, not so much the uploading... You know, maybe slightly larger files than your average song or such... You know, around the 350MB mark.............................................

Trying? To find? I can't escape it on this side of the glass, son.

I don?t have an account but of all those one-click hosters I like it the best because it always gives me full speed (might have to do with the server location, they have most their servers in Germany and Switzerland)

Hmm. What do u really intend to do? If you find yourself regularly downloading files from Rapidshare (>300MB), then I suppose an account will help. As far as I've seen, people seem to use the site only when they have to (Bcoz' the idiot who uploaded the file used Rapidshare in the first place). If it's for sharing files with friends, then a free site would be the obvious choice.

Well, the server on my campus detects all file sharing, torrent software and such. Once it does you get chucked off the network until you apologize. One way around that is to find a nice site like this,

www.warez-bb.org (http://www.warez-bb.org),

and go about getting your fix of 24, Lost, Prison Break and such from that, seeing as I don't have Sky up here.

Actually, I hate Rapid Share. I think it is the worst  of all the internet  download services. You download one thing and then for the next thing it says wait 98 minutes. Fuck that.

Ok, I know. Some smart  ass is going to say "get an account." But why? There  are other  services for free that don't jerk you around.

I unplug my internet thang, then plug it back in and then I don't have to wait. Works for some people, not for others. Give it a try perhaps?  :P

efish: thanks. but then I have to bend over to get to the wire. and if you read my post? in the thread about what? ails? you, I have a bad? back.? :hihi:
I like mediafire? which is very very fast and no download restrictions.
I stand by my conviction that Rapidshare sucks.
I avoid? it whenever? possible, but then again, I understand they are in the business to make money.
