God that was a long time ago and I was way young I am surprised I remember. If you look at the rape scene on Appetite's cover, the giant inflatable is the Red Monster jumping above the fence. I think it was a show from Brazil, and had Soundgarden as an opener, and Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith made an appearance.

fwiw; the one at the shows was a little different. one thing being that the one at the shows had a penis for a tounge. the one on the album was prolly originally supposed to be that way too but could never have been on an album cover with a penis for a tounge. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry played Mama Kin and Train Kept Rollin? with GnR. I used to work for a major label band and right after the Estranged video came out we had to do a video for mtv and the producers told us strictly to not wear any tshirts with band names on them. theres other technicalitys too like you could wear a shirt that says REM on it as long as it's not in official logo form because r.e.m. stands for rapid eye movement. its also funny that Guns had their album cover rejected just like ' smell the glove' was rejected in spinal tap :rofl: Title: Re: What was that giant inflatable?
