And then it gets no respect when it comes to a review of the work. Check it out and discuss.

Wow...they included The Replicants on the list of "found" material.  :o

PITMANIACS REJOICE!  :hihi:

I'm thinking the list is just numbered and not ranked.  Otherwise, ChiDem definitely would be higher if not #1.  Although after the November 21 debacle, RS is probably afraid to even mention this album.

I don't really see anything rude about the blog.  What else can they say that hasn't already been said 100 times or more in the past year?

RS is still interested and after the Nov. debacle that is a good thing!

They just put GN'R there because they had to.

People are still interested...

It's not an lost album. I mean, it's a forthcoming album....

But there's probably a lot of stuff somewhere out there that could be considered lost. Only a fool would think that the band have worked on the same songs that'll end up on Chinese Democracy all these years.

Demos, alternative versions, ideas etc etc.

This is the second time I've seen them use Axl as a punch line in their articles since Nov 21th didn't happen.

...so what you're saying is that the album is indeed actually coming out...someday?...maybe?  ;)

This isn't a ranked list and the author isn't insulting the album.  He's saying it is obviously an unreleased album people want to hear.  That is a good thing.

I don't understand what people who don't think the album is coming out are doing here..... Isn't it time to move on if you don't think they'll release it?

It was a bad joke, sir. I understand its your website, but I think your suggestion for me to leave is rather harsh - I really wasn't trying to offend anybody or be rude when I made that comment.

I think they'll release it, just obviously not in March/March 6th. In fact, you and I discussed that a week or so ago, I think you're of the same opinion if I remember correctly. I figured you'd know I was joking.

In slow times for news/info such as this, I'm of the opinion that it pays to have a sense of humor...even a bad one like mine  :peace:

You tell'm! Great post! The album is coming out! Believe  it.

::) No, really, I was kidding. I've read the FAQ and rules, no where does it say 'joking about the tentative release date is not appreciated'.

I do my best to follow the board rules. I condense my posts, I try not to start repeat topics, I don't insult people, I generally have really positive things to say about the band, I'm not whining and crying about the CD delay, I'm not getting angry at the band like some people, ...and some of you are just...uptight...this whole thread is about how people are taking Rolling Stone 'duh' comment too seriously.

Really folks, a few lighthearted jokes at a slow time like this shouldn't be that offensive.

5. The Replicants self-titled album Key members of mid-?90s L.A. rock gods Tool and Failure combine forces for a cover album that sounds like a glossy Nine Inch Nails covering John Lennon, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and more. Their cover of Gary Numan?s ?Are Friends Electric?? is the highlight, and Maynard James Keenan?s guest vocals on Paul McCartney?s ?Silly Love Songs? is a must-hear. This CD is long out of print, but lives on (illegally) on glorious mp3.

That's one of my favorite albums.

"Duh" meant they didn't have to talk about, that its a given people want to hear it and know about it. I don't think it was an insult.

The Lusk album maybe be a bigger Chris Pittman lost treasure than The Replicants.  Not that it isn't still readily available on Amazon.  It's just been more forgotten since Maynard wasn't a part of it.

I second that.  They've talked about CD enough times to the point where they're not going to keep repeating themselves.
By their definition, "Lost" means that you can't get it in any record store.  CD falls into that category, duh.

I wouldn't consider Chinese Democracy to be GN'R's lost album. The reason is that it is supposedly coming out "soon."

What I would consider GN'R's real lost album is the album that was talked about around 1996 that the old lineup had recorded. I know it's been said a million times on these boards, but it would be amazing if we ever got a box set with all the stuff recorded between 1994-1998.

Nah those two are real old, written before Slash & Alder even joined. They weren't even considered for Appetite. The lost album is something completely different. It may contain an early version of This I Love, or it may have just been an instrumental version of Slash's Snakepit's first album. Whether Axl actually layed down vocals over songs written by Slash & Duff, etc. during this time, is doubtful. I'd imagine it's a bunch of instrumental ideas rather than any finished songs.

Holy shit, Chris "Mother Goose" Pitman is all over that list!  And not just for Chinese Democracy...

1. The Tapeworm demos. This collaboration between Trent Reznor and Tool?s Maynard James Keenan teased fans with its impending release for almost six years before the project was pronounced dead in 2004. A couple of the tracks did show up on the soundtrack to the film Underworld under the name Puscifer, but without Reznor. We know Rez is busy with Year Zero and all, but how about granting our wish, just this once.
(Pitman played with Maynard James Keenan on several projects.  I wouldn't be surprised if he had a hand in this in some way)

This CD is long out of print, but lives on (illegally) on glorious mp3)
(Pitman played keys on this album.  The second best Pitman album behind Lusk)

7. Ice Cube & Dr. Dre Heltah Skeltah This reunion album for the ex-N.W.A. members never saw release, but it did produce the G-funkalicious single ?Natural Born Killaz.? With Dre on the verge of releasing his Detox and Ice Cube doing the Hollywood thing, one track may be all we?re getting from the duo.
(Pitman installed Dr. Dre's home recording studio and showed him how all the new technology works.  But this was recorded before then)
