Next year is the 50th anniversary of the Grammy awards and I think it would be super cool If Axl and Co win alot of awards like Album and record of the year with Chinese Democracy!

No, if it is released this year, it will be eligible for next year's award! The 50th year will probably be a big gala event and having GNR win alot of awards would be extra cool! BETTER is so much better than anything that was nominated this year! :peace:

The grammy's is fairly PC, dont no if Axl would pay much attention to it anymore. IMO a grammy of little worth, they seem to give them out to anyone. Some of the categorys are just stupid, "Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals" come on now.

Never going to happen due to the fact that GNR is a rock act.  The best they can do is kind of what RHCP did last night.  Record and album of the year are usually awarded to adult contemporary artists for the most part (and lately, mostly females).  Nora Jones, Alicia Keys, Dixie Chicks, Lauren Hill, these are artists that arguably have more broad based appeal than a band like Guns N' Roses.  If CD is good I give it a good shot at winning Rock Album of the Year, but unless someone like Bono suddenly replaces Axl, I don't see GNR up for any of the bigger awards...

Again, all these matters (winning awards, number one album/song, mass appeal) that while nice, are not of crucial importance if you're legitimate fan.  If Chinese Democracy is a great album in my opinion, I would like to see it get the credit its due.  But even if it doesn't, it won't affect my enjoyment of it.

But correct me if I'm wrong, don't you have to actually release something to be eligible to win something?  I'd have more concerns over the album's release than its propensity to garner forgettable awards.

releasing a master peace, and acknowledging standards that support "instant music" that rules the charts these days.

GNR would only give them some credibility, which they do not deserve.

If I was computer-literate I'd post the pic of Axl with Ron Jeremy...classic.  Honestly, I could give a poop if the mainstream world embraced my favorite rock band.  Either way, all is cool.  Axl stays true to his art and that makes me happy.  The band is amazing and I do believe a nomination has to be expected for Best Hard Rock album...if it comes out.  Whether they'd show up even if they were honored, is another question.   8)
