If some forum users are to be believed, Donatella Versace was one of the guests at Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday; towards the end of the interview she spoke about Guns N' Roses performing at tomorrow's Fashion Designers Hall Of Fame.

The LA Times say... "The evening's events ?- which will take place at the Beverly Hills City Hall -- include a dinner reception, award ceremony, special surprise musical performances and a live auction of the new Versace Lamborghini Murci?lago LP640 Roadster benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation." I just want to say, I'd like to withdraw my comments about Axl playing this show instead of finishing the album. I talked to him for about twenty minutes tonight after sneaking into the Versace thing, and I'm confident he's really been working on the album.

Fans should just hang on a little longer. He's done a lot of work, and significant steps forward have been taken. I don't want to repeat specifics though.

For as pissed as I get about bailed tours, delayed albums, rotating band members, lack of PR, and shit like that, Axl's still an awesome guy. All my frustrations stem from him not putting out new music. But based on our conversation, I feel really good about him putting out the album soon. Maybe not March, but soon.

What's most important, is that Axl's happy. He said the last fifteen years of his life have been hell. It really was sad to hear him say that. With all the things Axl's got going for him, it really sucks that he has to be depressed. He said this last year did a lot to pull him out of it. He said he was having a ball that night.

I'd be having a ball too if my girlfriend was as hot as Axl's.

By the way, Axl said he thought the EMS site was fun, and posed for a picture with an EMS sign. We talked about how he met Pitman, and how he really got into Lusk. Also, Pitman played the bass that night because Tommy had personal issues and couldn't be there (nothing related to the band or anything).

Happy days for Axl fans. I haven't felt this positive about Axl since the Better HD ads leaked, and I went and posted those supportive signs in his yard. Looks like he's really taking steps forward. Rejoice!!!

Hopefully he'll give us an interview!? So many of the people who agree to give us interviews are critics, or in BBF's situation, where they don't feel comfortable talking about the band or anything GNR related.  Axl would give us an awesome interview.

I didn't get to see the show.  I snuck in as the guests were leaving in their fancy cars.  Most of the people had cleared out, but Axl was just getting started.  He was dancing with a girl he introduced as his girlfriend.  Quincy Jones and Baz were there too.  Axl's definitely still got some dance moves.  It was fun to watch him tear it up.

Talked to Baz too.  He said it was awesome that I'd come in there wearing a  Rush t-shirt and a Miller Lite ballcap.  He thought it was a fashion statement!   I didn't tell him I'd snuck in, and that was just how I dressed normally.

I didn't ask him straight out (we all know he's not just going to come out and say it).  He did explain some of the process he's going through and what stage it's at, but I don't really feel comfortable sharing specific details.  If our conversation was "on the record" as  one of EMS's Ten Questions, that'd be another story.  But we were just talking as dudes.  I wouldn't want to share anything he didn't want out there.

I guess we all know this means the album is not completed...

so let's prepare for a summer/fall release

We can't say that for sure. ?Based on his previous comments in the "Open Letter From Axl..." it seems like he needs a few more weeks than he's got between now and March 6th to really launch this thing. ?But I don't know for sure. ?He told me stories, but I don't know enough about the industry to put them in any sort of context.

I wouldn't want anyone to draw conclusions Axl doesn't intend to be drawn. ?All I can say is that he sounds like he's really trying to get that album out there, but that it's a lot of work. ?Shit's been tough for Axl. ?At least he seemed happy tonight. ?

The impression I got was that recording was done, but there was still a process to releasing the album.  But please don't quote me as giving you a one-hundred-precent accurate answer.

I did. I was a stupid idiot and didn't read HRS' first post in the thread before I did. I saw it posted on EMS and rushed right to MyGNR and posted it like a fool forgetting about the MyGNR/EMS relationship. I'm sure photos will surface later on, but for now all I can say is that he IS NOT LYING and he has ample evidence for the doubters which hopefully will turn up sooner or later.

Axl DID tell him a lot about Chinese Democracy and Chris Pitman, and he's not telling you because he respects Axl enough to realize that Axl was telling him this as a fan, not as a person who was going to post it on the Internet. You aren't going to find out until Axl wants you to find out. Betraying Axl's trust is what far too many fans do and I respect MotherGooseLuvR for respecting Axl. Axl expressed his discontent towards the press and the ways facts are distorted by them, so what kind of message would we be sending if we printed something Axl had told him privately on the website - especially now that we know Axl has seen the site before and would know where to look?

Anyway, hold on for a bit and I'm sure soon the photos will show up to prove to all the doubters that it's legit.

Yes! I have to say that the guy who photoshopped a printscreen of gunsnroses.com was more trustworthy than this. Of course we all hope this would be true to keep our hopes alive but this is kind of lame.

Sorry, not believing this story.  The sneaking into the event did it for me.  You just don't sneak into an event with Axl Rose at it.  There would still be security at the door.  Even at all the afterparties, there were people monitoring the doors.

I think this is great. GNR played this gig, and all accounts and photos point to a happy Axl.
We know the recording and legalities and even touring has been a difficult process, so it's nice to think of Axl and the rest of GNR being happy and doing a gig like this simply because they wanted to.
It's like this band is allowed to be free again. A fashion show here, south africa coming, and a happy band with an album they're happy with on it's way.?

I really don't get why everyone got all excited about this.  It wasn't a GNR show per sae...it was a few songs played at a celebrity party.  It's great that most of the band got together and had a good time, but it was not ment to be a springboard IMO.

We've talked in the past and he basically [for lack of a better phrase] worships Axl and would not make up something like this. 1. I'm glad to see that GN'R are out there doing stuff - regardless of what it is they are doing.

I've never been a big fan of somebody posting to a thread saying - I was told this, but can't tell you what it is.  Really - what's the point of that.  I do respect the fact that he doesn't want to let us know in respect for Axl, but he should have not dangled the carrot.  I personally could care less what Axl told the guy, I don't even want to know - but I think what he did is flat out wrong.  It's another case of "I know something that you don't".  Petty stuff!  Enjoy the music or just move on - lets not make it more than it really is.

I think Versace's sister on Jimmy Kimmel was great. She had a good sense of humor and I think if she werent a nice person Guns wouldn't have played at the event. Axl told him that Tommy Stinson couldn't make the show. He told him why, but he asked MotherGooseLuvR not to tell anyone the specifics of Tommy's absence because it was a personal issue.

HRS told us this LONG BEFORE Blabbermouth reported that Tommy wasn't there. Axl told him Pitman was on bass. So, either HRS is psychic, or it happened. How would he know Tommy wasn't there ahead of time? He told us this hours and hours before any sites reported it. He has pictures, and he doesn't lie to fellow members of EMS and he told us what happened.

Axl was very drunk. The party was over, and people were leaving. Baz was there, and Baz had done an interview with EMS already, and Axl thought the site was funny, so he got talking to MotherGooseLuvR and it lasted twenty minutes. HRS didn't ask about the setlist because he wasn't interviewing the guy, they were just chatting as one guy to another. Axl talked about Chinese Democracy and gave details about the album, which I think is more important than finding out what songs were played. Axl even introduced his girlfriend, and spoke about the song Silkworms, but MotherGooseLuvR (HRS) is choosing not to go into specifics because Axl asked him not to. What is so hard to believe about that?

Makes sense to me... and if Axl is anything like me when he's drinking, i know secrets become a lot less secret.

Not true, there were several things I did share. ?Tommy, the fact that CD is coming out, and some minor things. ?And the picture will come out once it's all sorted out. ?

Here's another detail that I'm sure isn't considered personal. ?We talked about Pitman, and he said that he was introduced to him right after Mother Goose had personally installed Dr. Dre's home recording studio. ?Pitman was considered a wiz with music technology. ?He came in to help Axl work with some of his new technology, but they ended up really getting along. ?He said after that, he went back and listened to Lusk (which, by the way, is really good pop rock stuff and you should go listen to it too!) and knew that Pitman would have a lot to offer the Chinese Democracy project.

I'm sure that bit of info wasn't considered personal as it doesn't get into Pitman's personal life and doesn't involve any specifics of CD's release.

The reason I posted that stuff was to let fans know that Axl's really been working on the album and that even a dude like me -- ?who gets pretty discouraged when GNR stalls, tours are aborted and shows cancelled -- that even a dude like me is upbeat about Chinese Democracy's future.

1) The show happened and wasn't a lie or a no-show

But he was at a party with friends, drinking. ?It very clearly wasn't an "on the record" situation, and thus, I chose not to treat it as such. ?A personal judgement. ?I know Axl has problems with being misquoted in the press and it leads to problems. ?I'm not going to contribute to that.

Instead, I'll share whatever I can be completely confident Axl wouldn't mind being shared. ?For all I know, he'd be cool with me sharing every little detail of our discussion. ?I honestly don't know. ?But out of respect for Axl's privacy, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I made the call to keep certain specifics of our conversation under wraps, but I still wanted to pass along the gist what wel talked about. ?CD is coming out, and it's going to be awesome. ?People shouldn't give up hope just yet. ?And that should mean a lot since it's coming from someone who's given up hope several times over the last ten years.

What exactly is it that give you hope now? I mean, Axls said in the press before that the album is coming and then the latest letter says it's coming soon. So was it just that he told you personally it's coming soon that restored your faith?

Ill stick up for you here, when a group of us met Axl back in November he was very happy to discuss the album and told us things that had not been reported but as it was  general conversation it wasnt stuff really to be told to others on the boards in my eyes it was stuff i had been privalidged to hear by my own ears and it would of felt like a breach of trust anyhow the stuff we found out did become common knowledge by others but i understand MGL reluctance to relay everything.

I dont really care either way, but i thought i would point some things out. Ive spoken to some of the band members before and have shared what i was told, because in my opinion they wouldnt tell anything that was sensative, top secret to a complete randomer, who was quite obviously a fan they had just met at a party.

He was talking to you, the admin of a Guns n Roses website, if he didnt want the info out there then he wouldnt have said it to you. He knew who you were, he knew what you do.... your website, the purpose of your website, he knew what he was getting into when he said the things he said to you! You yourself admit that you had to sneak into this thing so if im correct it doesnt seem like your going to be attending anything like this again, maybe never even run into Axl again, so basically you dont really have anything to loose. Hes not going to come after you, im sure he has more important things to do.

If your scared about anything you say getting miss quoted, misunderstood then put it in huge bold letters that "everything you read below is allegedly what took place, blada blada blada" or whatever. To be honest no official news sources are going to quote you, or even care. As far as they are concerened, if they do really care, the official date is still March the 6th.... everyone on here knows that that isnt going to happen. The press wont jump on it until it gets really close to the date, by that time, as Axl said we will have been informed by the man himself as to what is happening so your comments wont mean anything.

Anyways, I only slept like four hours the night before. ?I hardly slept at all when I got back from meeting Axl. ?I was amazed by how the real guy can be so different from the public persona. ?Though he's clearly a bad ass motherfucker, he's also a very human, sensitive guy. ?

Yea, Quincy Jones was there.  He was down front near the DJ with Axl, but I didn't see them talking together.

That ain't Frank on the left of Axl -- that's me.  See my bushy mutton chop sideburns?  And the Miller Lite ball cap?  Baz also liked my Rush t-shirt.

Someone asked what Axl said about the sign -- he immediately recognized EMS by name.  He said he knew about the Pitman site and kinda laughed about it.  Nobody quite knows whether to take EMS seriously or not, but after we chatted about Pitman (Dr. Dre, Lusk, etc...) I think he understood that as silly as EMS is, we still really dig Pitman.  You gotta admit, he's the most interesting member of the band these days (except for Axl, of course).

Why are you so desperate not to believe it?  Look at how the letters match between the Axl and Baz pictures.  Don't be silly. 

Just because I got to meet Axl doesn't mean that you'll never get the chance.  Don't be petty and jealous.  Hang around after his concerts and you might get the chance to meet him too.  It also helps to do something cool and creative like work on a unique fan site.  We actually had shit we could chat about beyond -- "Ohmygod Axl you are like so freakin' awesome can you sign this for me?"

The darkness of the writing on the paper doesn't seem to be consistant, the writing at the top is lighter than the writing at the bottom. Seems like its written with a pen, but could mean nothing.

I can't believe anyone would be pissed at Merck. Seriously, be honest. Managing Axl fuckin Rose is probably one of the hardest jobs in the music industry. I love Axl to death, but he can be "difficult". I don't think there is any question about that. In the end, Axl is in charge and SHOULD take all the credits and all the blame. First of all, you don't know that. What we know is that a big portion of the band knows about, and likes EMS. Sadly the odds of Axl not knowing about it doesn't fall in your favor.
