I was watching Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. One of the guests was Donnatella Versace, towards the end of the interview, Jimmy said that Versace was being inducted into the Fahion designers hall of fame, he then went on the read a list of poeple that would be present, when he brought up the name Axl Rose, Versace said he would be there with the band and that guns n roses would be performing that night....but they didnt go any further.....anyone else hear fo this? will it be televised?

Axl is good friends with Donnatella. This would be great promo if true, it would be in all the magazines. any meantion of a date?

I don't understand why the band doesn't post news or information on what the members are doing.  Like, why couldn't they just write a little blurb on the site saying, "Axl and Co. will be performing at such and such tonight as a special guest appearance."  Why do we always have to hear it second hand?  Why do we always have to play detective and find out if Dizzy's schedule coincides with GNR's schedule?  I mean WHY THE FUCK can't this band inform its fans on what's going on?  Is it that hard to take 20 min. and update the site with a little info?  :rant:

That could be a telling factor, if they do play and they play a new song then thats a really good sign, start of the promo as such, but if its a old song, then its a missed opportunity which leads me to think that the album is a long way off yet. ?:'(

hmmm if it was for promotion then we would hear about it through GN'R.  I think it's just something Axl's doing as a favor, or something to do while hes in New York.  I hope he at least plays some new tracks and mentions Chinese Democracy...but I doubt it being its a fashion show.  Maybe the models will come out with shirts that have the new album cover on it?!

Any important information about the band over the last year or so came from official sources with no predictions from anywhere else. There were about 200 rumoured elease dates but the first person to mention March 6th was Axl. this goes for all the other important developments in the last year (hammerstein shows, rock in rio, inland invasion, cancelled dates, etc). In this case Donatella mentioned it and she's clearly an official source as its her party. Can't wait to see what they play but it won't be chosen as the start of the official promotion or anything, he's just carrying out a favour : ok:

Just watched it.  It sounds legit, I wouldn't be surprised if they played, and I wouldnt be surprised if they are not there.  I definitely wouldn't expect a release date announcement if they played, it would probably be a short set, or medley.

I know Axl has been wearing Versace since the early 90s and that he has been going to fashion shows and stuff since then, so thats why I'm assuming he met Donatella through Steph.

I would assume that Axl knows Donattela through her brother whom Axl met (I assume) through Stephanie in the early 90's.  When her brother was killed, Donatella sort of took over the Versace empire.



Does anyone else think it's weird that she just sort of matter-of-factly mentioned GNR at this event and we can't seem to find anything else about it in any article about the event?  Weird.

I think it's really cool that Guns has the ability to scale-down and play at these kinds of events. Not many hard rock bands can do that. It also shows that Axl/Guns have allot of support among the elite regardless of the shit that gets printed about them.

   Was Channel surfing last night when I saw Demi Moore on the red carpet at the versace event on E. I had seen a few pics here and knew she was there so I watched hoping to see something about the gig. Well no luck, not only no footage of the guys but they didn't even mention that Guns preformed or that they were even present (although they did make a note Francis-bean Cobain was there...whatever).

What the fuck? do you think Axl does the ol' in through the out door?, no pictures, no interviews. If so, what's the point of being "out there" if you are not really "out there" these are great occasions to get the name out. Let people know.

I think it's because the media likes dirt and Guns playing an event like that is a 'good guy' thing. they only want to report when Axl gets arrested or report lies about him demanding food before he goes on stage.
