Title: Neemo's Greatest Movie of All-Time Survivor (The Best of the '80's: Top 5)
Post by: Neemo on February 05, 2007, 10:40:59 AM
In "Greatest Movie Survivor", fire represents death, when the Movie's credits roll, the movie goes up in flames, when the names are read, the decision is final and they must leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll go tally the votes.

Raiders of the Lost Ark, bring me your torch.

The Tribe has spoken.

and the top 5 movies of the 1980's as voted by us are:

#5 - Aliens
#4 - The Terminator
#3 - Die Hard
#2 - Raiders of the Lost Ark

and the champ is:

Back to the Future

i think that Back to the future could conceivably make the top 5 but #1 i def dont agree with it

IMO terminator, die hard and raiders have no buisiness in the top 5

U cant fuck with Back to The Future

That movie is a masterpiece despite all the paradox in it.

Here are some questions with that movie.

Marty changed his life, they went from being poor to wealthy so why did they live in the same house?  ISnt it more plausible that they would've lived in a totally different place maybe even a different state and if they lived in a different house, maybe Marty never would've met Doc in the first place.

D, don't even start with that. BTTF is just filled with contradictions and improbabilities. Good fun though.

Can someone explain to me where all the hate for The Terminator is coming from?  It's a perfect monster movie - wonderfully full of suspense.  Some of the CGI is a little dated but that's the only flaw I can think of.

Well the whole movie is based around the CGI parts :hihi: if the CGI is shitty then ther goes the movie. The story itself is cool but it was made 10 years to early IMO....T2 looks fantastic....T1 not so much :-\ even if you compare it to other movies of the timeframe the CGI is still lacking.

I dunno its a really cool movie but just not top 5 :peace:

considering it was a low budget movie i thought it was good.

I find that the CGI only looks dated at the end, when he's all metal.  It's still a good scene just a bit cheap looking.

and the bit with him removing his eye socket that looks dodgy as well but i really do not let it bother me it was in the end a low budget film that in all honesty in its day looked great but does not detracy from the great story action and suspense plus the ever looming fear of computers which is still just a relevent today even if August 29, 1997 has passed us by
