Title: Best amp?
Post by: Rockdawg on January 31, 2007, 02:33:21 PM
I am looking for a new amp and need it to meet a few criteria:

1.  Headphone jack
2.  CD input jack
3.  Under $300.00
4.  In the US

I am looking for a "Slash" sound.  I know that his sound is a tube amp, LP, and Alnico 2's.  Well, I do not need a tube because they do not have headphone jacks.  This is a must, since I have a family that sleep while I play.

I am looking for some helpful suggestions.

Thanks

its a modeling amp..but it sounds great....i got one i'm in similar situation as you

here i recorded "come as you are" by "nirvana" on it and it turned out pretty cool :D

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2VJ9RS1Y

you can recreate almost any sound and there is support online for different settings for lots of songs if you look around

I was thinking of the Spider 2, but then they went and made the Spider 3.  I do not seem to like the tones as much.

actually they even said that the modeling was betting on the spiderII

but BBF has a setting on the spider II i think

i imagine you can prolly find the spider II still...i love mine : ok: and i payed only $220 CDN for it

also you can save settings on it and the footswitch has a wah pedal ;)
