Title: Axl in New York
Post by: dallasgel on January 30, 2007, 03:47:38 PM
Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com has video on the site of Axl Rose going to Butter restaurant last night.  Wonder what he's doing in NYC.  Possibly working on the album still?  Maybe just relaxing?  Nothing really to talk about, I suppose, but cool to see press on him nonetheless.

Perhaps this proves that butter really does make everything smoother and creamier, even for a famously prickly rock star and an ex-aspiring-rapper on the remake.

Strange banquette-fellows, Axl Rose and Kevin Federline, both alighted upon downtown celebriteria Butter on Monday night, striding quite proudly past the shivering masses. (Would someone please tell Axl that cornrows, particularly cinnamon-colored ones, lost stylistic currency last century?)

Cool stuff, maybe for the mixing/mastering stuff-or maybe just hanging out. Another tid bit that shows that the recording (in LA) is probably done.

 :)

P.S Guy above me, he wasnt hanging with KFED, they just went to the same restaurant. Axl wouldnt hang with that guy.

yea, i''m not sure why anyone is saying it was from last night, because it doesn't say that anywhere.

based on the "happy new year axl" I would assume this was in very early january.  that would also jive with the trailer park boys stuff we heard.

Yeah, this is from the beginning of the month. He's not in NYC anymore, and my bet is still that the album's done.

All that says is that it was put on TMZ.com today.? No where does it give a date as to when this footage was.

I still say it was earlier like Dec. or Jan early on.? Who says Happy New year this late?
For that reason alone I say it's old footage and was put on TMZ.com just today.

Since it was posted today and it says Monday night, it makes sense that they mean yesterday.  If it was last monday, they would have given the date.  And i've heard people say happy new year throughout the whole month of january.
Also, the video is probably digital... there would be a time stamp on it.

ok i think this is recent. the weather here in nyc was very very warm. all of january was mild. until past friday when it was below zero. it snowed alittle sunday night, and was very cold yesterday. look at how they are dressed. its freezing out. this was last night.

some barely have jackets on, you don't see their breath as they walk and talk.... the happy new year did it for me..
this is a couple of weeks back.. not as recent as yesterday...

Pat - have to call ya out on this one... although Axl looked bad ass as usual... I think it could be 60 and he might sport the same gear..

Someone who I dont' see often just told me happy new year the other day. I think people who don't see each other every day might indeed say happy new year at the end of Januray. The fact they said it in this video doesn't prove when it was shot.

Axl was definitely in New York last night 1/29/06. ?I was looking at a celebrity site (justjared.com) and all of those stars who walked in at the same time as Axl (Sienna Miller, Jimmy Fallon, and Guy Pierce) were in town for a movie premiere. I saw pictures of them and they were wearing the same thing as was shown on that video we say today!

I liked that video - Axl was amazingly courteous to whoever was saying "goodnight" and "happy new year."? Good to see he's not the prima donna the press always makes him out to be.?

Also, it's a good observation that the temperature doesn't seem that cold in the video, but I guess it's possible it was filmed last Saturday when the weather was warmer on the east coast.?

Interesting find!

I hope that Axl plus K-Fed at the same place is just an after recording dinner celebrating K-Fed's Guest Spot on Chinese Democracy.

I was checking out this topic at cd.com and a poster UcuBmine  said this:

They say happy new year and I see a fucking Xmas tree, so if it was yesterday, they're very late in NY

That's not an Xmas tree, lots of restaurants in NY have lights outside all through the year.

Sienna Miller needs to put on a coat, sheesh it's 20 degrees here!

This movie premier was on the 30th so this has to be new, no idea why the moron is still saying Happy New Year.
