Title: GNR Store - Personal Plea (Fat Men Everywhere)
Post by: Brettles on January 28, 2007, 05:23:24 PM
Man so many cool shit on this site i could buy..... If only they made fat man sizes!

I am fuckin fat have been for all my life! I would love to have a band shirt of my favourite band.
But I cant cause I am fat and its not viable to make shirts in my sizes.

Yes I need to lose weight, I know that (also need to lose it to look good in my wedding photos next year)
But I dont want to have to wait till whenever I lose weight to get into a band shirt.
Fuck I may never actually lose enough weight to fit into these shirts....
I could spend hundreds of dollars on that site... if only.

Maybe if more people talk up about this, someone may actually listen to us!

Well... if you're dying for a GN'R shirt, just buy a really big shirt and t-shirt pasties to print what you want on 'em...

I completely agree with you. Although it doesn't really make a difference for myself, I know many people who would die for some larger/plus sizes of their favorite band merch.

I don't really see why, not just GN'R, but all of the bands don't do plus sizes more. The worst case scenario, you make MORE money. I know anytime a store carries like a 3X or 4X of a GNR shirt or any other band, they fly off the shelf. They can't keep plus sizes in stock, there's that much of a demand.

So why not make them, and sell them? With the obesity issue most people of the world have, I think you would actually sell more shirts of plus sizes, than regular.

Anyways, I agree.  : ok:

Maybe Teddy Zig Zag would like a GN'R shirt too...  ;D :D

I've been there. It's easy once you admit you have a problem and decide to help yourself.

I am a 4xl in tshirts - yes i am tall as well!!!! - and yes i am the tall guy with the denim jacket on thats at most of the gnr gigs in the uk (i get recognised alot)!!!

the here today gone to hell boys do a 4xl - however its a bit short!
I got a gnr - live at the whiskey 4xl shirt and a couple of Velvet revolver tshirts from ebay!

I also bought an adlers appetite 4xl shirt from his old website - it rocks.

Best thing to do is buy a denim jacket and cover it in gnr patches like i do!!

Wish they would make bigger sizes - god id never be seen with out a gnr shirt on!

Its easy for some people. I know the dude that started this thread (we went to school together) and we are both big dudes. The GN'R 2XL fit me fine but im still a fat cunt. Me N' Brettles have both admited to being fat and want to do something about it but its the self esteem thing about going to the gym or the park for a run or whatever with other people watchin you. They probably arent watching but it feels like everyone is. Thats my main reason for not exercising so thats why Its Not so easy for me.

Yes I know I am fat, I know exercising helps most people lose weight, I personally walk between 5-10km each night I go to work!
Still doesnt help the fact I am fat. I have always been fat! ALWAYS! I am fit, I am healthy I have passed numerous fitness tests to gain work (and they aint easy)

I watch what I eat and all the rest meticulously (because theres a strong Heart problem in my family, my dad just had a double heart attack)
I am still fat.

I am not complaining that I am fat not by a long way, all I want is a Guns N Roses shirt that fits me.... a GENUINE shirt so I give my bit back to gunners
rather then some black market shirt peddler.

Gastric surgery would be great (if it would actually help me) but on a Security Guards wage it just doesnt happen, especially with the cost of living and trying to save for a wedding too.

I have made shit loads of band shirts over the past, ask Dead N' Bloated he's seen my handy work, but I just want a real Guns N Roses shirt that I can wear with pride...

I don't know where you'd be able to find any of the new merch in a big size , but I do know that Hot Topic's website carries most band shirts in sizes up to 4XL. They cost a few bucks more, but that's really the only option I'm aware of.

yeah im not rippin on anyone for being overweight...but its pretty simple,, if you watch your diet and excersise daily, you will lose weight....it is not rocket science, if you burn more calories than you eat you lose weight......

Dude, use the GNR shirt as motivation to get yourself into the gym.

if u start exercising and cutting your food intake in half, I guarantee within 3 to 4 months u will probably be able to wear a 2x.

Remember we determine everything about ourselves unless there is some sort of thyroid condition or some medical problem.

We all choose how we wanna look and weigh. The power to change is in your hands.

Buy a 2X and make it your goal to fit in it by summer.

Its not that hard once u get going.

but some of us (myself included) are perfectly happy being fat and have no desire to change that.

and we need clothes just like the same as the rest of the not so fat populations.

Title: Re: GNR Store - Personal Plea (Fat Men Everywhere)
Post by: Will on January 29, 2007, 05:27:19 AM
I don't think the problem is whether the store carries "plus sizes"...Maybe the problem is that some people need those sizes...If you need that kind of size, then maybe there is a problem with your body. Like some people said on the thread, exercise and a healthy diet help a lot. Once you're under XL, you'll be able to wear anything you ever wanted to wear.
I know it sounds like we're patronizing those who need such sizes...but believe me you will feel better, and it will be less dangerous for your health too.

So instead of making shirts, that will MAKE MORE MONEY for everyone...

The excuse is to loose weight? You know what, i'm not fat, but people have a right to be whatever the fuck they want, and eat whatever the fuck they want. I don't really care. I eat the worse foods, the only reason i've stayed fit is because I have a physical job.

I don't know about you folks, but to me... fat people's money is just as green as skinny people's money.

I hear what your saying, gym's are a awful place to go. You can exercise in your own house, instead of going for a run why not run on the spot in your kitchen or something like that. Its all exercise, or run up and down the stairs. You will get the same results at a fraction of the price. ?: ok:

You did say Americans are the only ones that are fat. That's exactly what you said. By quoting what I said, saying it's a WORLDWIDE issue, then saying 'America isn't the world', pretty blatantly implies America is the only country with fat citizens, which is obviously an attack, bias, and ignorant statement. This coming from someone, who has seen the world.

As for shirts, I still guarantee you, side to side, a 4X shirt vs. a 2X shirt, the 4X would sell more.

Losing weight. Its possible.

I'm 17 and I've lost 4 stone since April 1st. I lost 3 stone by July in time for my holiday, and then stopped really. Been dieting on and off since then.

I mean its not essential, but I feel better and look better. If you don't mind being fat or whatever, then don't change. Not for anyone. I did this for myself and not anyone else.

The sad thing is there are many above xl GNR fans. Like myself. 3 XXXL here. GNR is the only one losing out on the money. Hey and we are a bigger sign to advertise. Lets face it people wearing the shirts are doing just that.

I find it rude of people to say go on a diet, gastric pypass this and that, what bullshit. If it was only that easy.

YOU said MOST ppl in the WORLD...and that's why i responded that the world isn't America alone. Because MOST ppl in the world don't have obesitas. it's centered to certain parts of the world...and face it obesity rarely accures in Asia..which holds MOST of the ppl in the world...

I think it would be more appropriate to supply t-shirts in a small size! You can never get fucking rock t-shirts in small and im sure its not just me that it pisses off! Not every rock fan is an XL, but it worries me slightly that so many people exceed this size and Im just shocked they dont seem to care.

Exactly! Lose weight isn't a hard thing to do once you admit you have a problem. Is just like to quit smoking or drinking...

Until last September I used to weight 106kg(something like  233 lbs). Then I decided that I needed to lose weight so I could have a better and longer life...now I'm weighting 88kg(something like 193 lbs) and I only need to lose more 8kg(17lbs) so I'll be on my ideal weight...

So, it's not a hard thing to do...it's all about you go to the GYM daily and stop to drink coke and eat shit food...you'll see that you'll lose weight in no time! And then you'll be able to fit in any normal human size shirt you want!

Honestly .. it's easy for all people!! You just need to get active. BUY a treadmill for your home. Screw this going to the gym , I cant blame ya there. I bought myself a treadmill , it folds up when not in use so it doesnt get in the way. Just hop on and walk at a brisk pace for 30-45 minutes daily. Thats all!!

No running , no starvation. Just a brisk walk every day for 30-45 minutes. You can still eat bunches too. But look for lower fat options.

I did it and so can you bro.

Good luck.

Hey bro. I'm hearing you. BUT .. you may be walking 10k every night. But that itself wont help. You HAVE to walk at a very brisk pace (just slower then a jog) for atleast 30-45 minutes to start burning not only calories but also fat. Fat is started to be used for energy after about 25 minutes of brisk walking , after 25 minutes your body starts to use stored fat for energy.

Moreover , the more lean mass you have (IE Muscle) the easier and faster it is to lose weight. So a treadmill and a set of dumbells and fat will just fall off you.

Your body is no different then any other humans body ... burn more calories per day then you consume and you WILL lose weight!!

Heres a good tip , replace regular soda with diet or zero calorie soda or better yet water if you can handle it. You wont believe how much water weight you will lose in just 2 weeks if you replace soda with water!!

*sigh* In the end the decision is yours and you will probably just be *happier* with a bigger shirt , but in all honesty , you will FEEL & LOOK better and live LONGER if you take the inititive and try to lose fat and build some lean mass.

Again , good luck .. no matter what choice you make.

i was once fat like u but i hated myself so much that i have sub 10% body fat now and am totally ripped.  u can lose it all, bulk up (or tone up depending what u want and what kind of body u have) and put calvin klein models to shame if u really want to.
