Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I was just wondering, when they announce the first US show, how many people from here are planning or going to try their best to go to it??

If it's in the summer.... I'm gonna my fucking best to be there.  :yes:

I'll be there come hell or high water.

If Chinese Democracy is out then I'll go. If not I won't. Simple as that.

I saw them twice on the 2002 tour & once on the 2006 tour.

If CD is out...I'm there.

If not....it would depend on where they're playing.  I'd absolutely go to another Hammerstein-type show.  But I think I'd skip an arena show at this point. 

Edit: I wanna clarify a little.

I'd skip the arena show not because I'm tired of the old material, or I'm mad at the band, or anything else like that.  It's a question of balance....I've seen them many, many times (approaching double digits, now) in all their differenct incarnations.  I now have 3 kids at home, and a career to balance THAT with....I'm not the young guy with no responsibilities I once was.  And, like it or not, CT is NOT going to get a weekend date with GnR.  We're right between Boston and NYC and THEY will get the weekend dates.  With CD out, it is, to me, worth what I'd have to "give up" to go to the show.  Without it...not as much.

If CD is out there's no way that I'll miss it, if CD isn't out there's no way that I'll miss it as long as I can afford it.

I'll def make it to the next US leg of this tour.  Loved it the first time around.

I'll be at MPLS again....and I'll be outta school. :D

I agree with pilferk....If CD is out I'll do my best to get to a show, ESPECIALLY if it's on the East Coast somewhere.  If it's not out, I might have to bow out for the same reason he stated above.  Job, a child, other responsibilities are hard to get out of unless it's a really really good reason.  I've seen them perform more times then I ever thought I would now, and fullfilled most of my "I wanna"s in regards to seeing/meeting/shaking hands with various members.  I can relax now ;D

If they are playing a new setlist or if Chinese Democracy is out, I would attend another show.

If not, I seen this incarnation 5 times already, and am satisfied with seeing them that much.... if they did a small show like Hammerstein again, I'd consider going if a couple of my friends wanted to make it a vacation!!

I'd go with or without CD out. ?Why? Because, GNR is my favorite band, and you never know when it will all end with them. ?I bet the people who were at the 2002 MSG show were glad as hell they went. ?They probably though, GNR would never play again, because no one knew what would happen 4 years later.

Yeah, I have a buddy who didn't see them in 2006, so I'm sure I'll go with him in 2007, if they hit Indy, Chicago, or Central Illinois.

Having seen them 10 times since 2002, I'd go to the Toronto show, but that's probably it.  I think it's pretty much useless to think they'd tour without new material again.  Even Axl mentioned that he thought it was understood that the 2006 NA tour was given the go under the assumption the album would be out before the conclusion of the dates set. 

A different question would be, and probably all the more useless, is how much effort would you make if say, Slash were to guest spot during certain spots of the show much like Izzy last year.  In that case, I would definitely tune up the car and hit the road for as many shows I could feasibly afford.

As it stands, when new material comes out and the band is around, I'd definitely see a Toronto show, and if they played Hamilton or London (Ontario), I'd venture that far as well.  But that's pretty much it.

If they're somewhat close to me, and/or money is good at the time, i will go to as many shows as I can, just like always, they could play the same song 20 times in a row for all I care, I'd still have a fucking blast  :)

Same here, if CD is out yes I'll go. No otherwise as I have seen them twice this year and $90 a tickets is very pricey.

It all depends if I have the money to go on a trip, if they don't open up in California.  I sure hope CD is out.  If it IS out, I'll go regardless.  I'll hitchhike on a poultry truck if I have to.

And as I always say, the more the merrier.  Get some friends to criscross the country with, boy would that be a blast!

If it happens to be somewhere within a 200 mile radius of me, I'll go- IF a new cd is out . I don't feel the need to see the same show again.

the first show means nothing to me. locations will dictate what shows i go to. ?

when they do tour, i'll be at most shows within 100-150 miles of philly. and may even fly to see a show or two.

I live in the UK and would love to see them again.  I understand why they did the old stuff along with whats been released through the leaks.  But to tour with CD on the open market they should do say any ten from 15 pre-2002 and the rest from CD and the odd song from other bands material.

Depends where it is...im from the NY/NJ area so if its around here I'll go...if not Ill wait till they come here...which they will because they sell more tickets in this area than anywhere else in the country...Ive loved GNR since I was 9...I am 25 now...but I still will NEVER travel more than 3 hours to see them...because while I know they did a much better job of showing up on this last tour..they still canceled an obcene amount of concerts by normal bands standards...However if i did not live near NY, Im sure i would take a few more risks.....

same here.  i'm not fussed about small details like the setlist.    Its an amazing fucking show and I for one will be at any dates they book at the Hammerstien Ballroom, or at The Joint in Vegas.

Is this some sort of trick question?  Of course I'll be there!  I round up 5 or 6 casual GNR listeners and take a couple hours drive to have a great time!  Whether it be NY or Jersey, (I'd prefer Philly, it's closer) the night is always unforgettable.  Plenty of drinks plenty of tunes, everyone deserves to live like a rock star every once in a while!   :love:  :beer:  8)

I'm from Europe, but... I would sure as hell go regardless of whether CD was released or not.

I don't think GNR will get away with playing either the UK or US again without a new album (unless its the superbowl or some other key event) so in short...yes!

opening show(s) any time anywhere in the US....as long as we get some help with presales for pit/floor....CD release is irrelevant.

  Given they come to Milwaukee this time without cancellation, I will most definetally go, CD out or not, because unlike most of you, I have yet to see GnR in concert  :'(

Of course I will go! I will be at Chicago for sure. But money is tight right now so I may not be able to take a long trip this time. That will be a bummer for me!

I'll probably look at all the tour dates and decide which one to got to. If the first show is in some weird location I probably won't be going. BBF assured me they would be playing all over, maybe in Houston  :peace:

If they tour Europe again, I'll go no matter what, no matter where, even if the album isnt out.

If the first show is in NYC, I'll definitely be there, regardless if CD is out or not. If the first show is somewhere else, but Chinese Democracy is already out, I'll go to the first show in the NY, NJ, CT, MA area. But, if Chinese Democracy is NOT out, I will not attend a show until it is. Seen the '02 and '06 tours, waiting for some change in the setlists and some new material. I've seen Aerosmith 14 or 15 times and have yet to go to a show where they don't play something I haven't seen/heard live before. I go to two GN'R shows, four years apart and see practically the same setlist. I did get to see TWAT though...that was pretty cool. I just want to hear new music or at least some more/different UYI material...is that too much to ask?
