VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum revealed during a Camp Freddy Radio broadcast on Los Angeles' Indie 103.1 FM earlier in the month that the band will team up with AEROSMITH for some South American dates in April. The trek is expected to include stops in Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. Currently the group is booked for the following shows (note: with the exception of the Brazil show, these dates have not yet been officially confirmed by VELVET REVOLVER or its management): Apr. 12 - Claro Hall - Rio de Janeiro, BRA Apr. 12-15 - Quilmes Rock 2007 @ Estadio River Plate - Buenos Aires, ARG Apr. 18 - Parque Sim?n Bol?var - Bogot?, COL Apr. 18 - Palacio De Los Deportes - Bogot?, COL VELVET REVOLVER is recording its second album, tentatively titled "Libertad", with producer Brendan O'Brien, who's worked with AUDIOSLAVE, PEARL JAM and singer Scott Weiland's former group, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. An initial stint with producer Rick Rubin did not work out. VELVET REVOLVER hopes to release "Libertad" in early May. Weiland is also working on his second solo album, which he said will surface sometime in 2008 on his own label, Softdrive Records. (Thanks: Velvet-Revolver.com) |
