so when do you peolpe think the official promo will begin?

if we're being honest with ourselves CD will come out sometime in march or even early april. so i think that the promo will start mid to late february?

anyone got any other ideas?

and what do you guys think the promo will be like? (please dont say, they should do this and that etc etc)

once Axl has a finalzed tracklisting I think he will make the announcement about the CD and its release. Once he has all the details figured out with the record companies and everything, we will know all the details.

I think they have to do something soon, at least an update of gunsnroses.com, since the March 6 thing is still up there and it becomes clear that this date is ruled out already. I'd guess early April, maybe May.

I have a feeling that gunsnrose.com will have a new banner soon. The new logo on the shop says Guns N Roses.com. I think that they are going to use that at the top of the page.

I think there should be many things to do between the albums completion and the official promotion, like listening parties and strategy meetings at the base camp and in every country that is releasing it.

I've always assumed early February, like *cough* around the Super Bowl. But seriously, early February makes the most sense. It makes a hell of a lot more sense than a lot of the other things people have come up with. There's absolutely no indication this thing isn't coming to us in March, and I still fully believe that it is.

Well, March is the kickoff for baseball spring training.  Just wondering if that will play a part in promotion.

I just hope the superbowl speculation actually comes true this year...BRING ON THE CD COMMERCIAL!!!  I know it won't happen but hopefully early February at the latest for promo...

At 2.7 million dollars for a 30 second spot, I think we can all agree there is absolutely no chance of that happening given all the other money that has already been spent on this project.

That commercial is done, they might use BETTER for a different commericial spot??  I think Harley still has something going with them though...

My guess would be that promotion would start 4-6 weeks prior to the album's release.

I think the album is done, but just because an album is finished doesnt mean they can announce everything right away. there are negotiations that axl has to do with the record company, and then everything finalised.

I'd guess  that when albums is done, as in in a state where Axl himself doesn't pour any more work on it and has passed the album to record label,  we will know about it almost instantly.
Then, and only then the record label can start promoting it; I'm sure the label has learned to believe only what they see by now, and ignore shady promises (THIS will be the year of CD! Honest!)coming from GNR camp. They can't start a  massive ad campaign saying "CD out this march!!" just because Axl said it would come out in March can they?
From the moment the label actually starts sitting on the album, I'd  give it good 7-10 weeks (single, the promotion)and you are close to release date.

I will be very suprised if we will see CD this year ::) The 2007 CD release  seems very unlikely.

Promotion will begin when the album is handed to Universal as a finished album ready for release. As we have got no confirmation from Universal or a definite release date from GNR it has not yet been handed in to the record company and thereofre is probably not complete.

Exactly. Unless there is some secret marketing plan in the works, I believe alot of people are going to be disappointed again. At least as far as a March release is concerned. I really hope this isn't the case but...? ?:no:

Maybe we'll end up getting the demo leaks of 'Prostitiute' and 'If the World' this year instead of the studio album.

Maybe not those, but I hope the ones that are sitting on leaks will release them if March goes by without word.

Here's my Qeustion :

1. Why couldn't Axl give us healthy updates up and until March 6 th regarding the Cd album release, process, I mean some of you have continuously stuck with this man through his thick and thin, amongst the hardest times.This would not be asking to much.Ecspecially people like Jarmo who have been patiently waiting for years for the album.



Doing this would give him grand exposure across the board internet wise , which is the real way , in 2007 , of promoting yourselve.


I just do not see how you harder core of fans could have stuck around this long.Spreading the good world , basically about nothing

I'm pissed at not having the album too, but he owes us nothing. Its the record label and band mates who should feel that they are owed something.
And it was apparent from his statement that he would not be giving regular updates.

so what you heard leaked songs from a rumored album, so what we all went to a  cd tour named concert , does it exists ?

if it is coming out in march, i think we'll know the OFFICIAL release date by the end of next week at the latest.
