Title: There was a six skull cross design!? Post by: ChrisGuy on January 23, 2007, 06:46:40 PM I was playing GNR pinball today and for the FIRST time realized that theres a DIzzy skull on the bottom of the Appetite/Axl cross
(http://www.ipdb.org/images/1100/image-26.jpg) Is there a bigger picture of the design somewhere? Call me dense but Ive never seen that particular cross design anywhere. Ironically though - its Izzy's skull, but Gilby is featured on the translite. Also - I can't tell from that picture, but it looks like a Matt skull (I see a red bandanna) instead of a Steven skull. So Herman are you still thinking of trading your pins for a classic 69 Mustang Fastback? The Six Skull Cross design query also reminds me of a couple of other quirks with the artwork.? The original prototype translite for the machine - (see the second image below) had a few errors.? Axl, Slash and Duff are painted from a Sweet Child O Mine sleeve picture from 88, yet Gilby and Matt are hanging out with them as thought it's present day (94 when the pin was released).? In addition, below the main pic is images of concert footage from 91 and it looks like Izzy is actually depicted on it.? No wonder that translite got replaced.
