FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

That all sounded fucking awesome!!!!!

Was that just the one song or clips of several songs I wonder... nevertheless, it all sounded great.
That riff right at the start sounded a bit Mr Brownstone-ish huh!

Brendan O'Brien sure has got them all sounding great. Just like Dave said, Slash's guitar tones sound really good.
It's probably too early to say, but from these clips to me it already sounds like it shits all over Contraband, and I love that cd!

Man, this album is gonna rock!!!

i keep watching this over and over. it sounds very very promising. i think the people who judged Velvet Revolver based on Contraband and wrote them off are gonna have to change their minds for this new record. I think this is gonna be so much better. i liked contraband but lets face it they could (and hopefully will) do much better.

doubt it, they may include it as a bonus video with the disk for a cd-rom or something.

It's a possibility. The end of the 3rd Vlog is weird, it's like it continues.

You know what's  really cool?

The songs in vlog #2 sound totally different from vlog #3. We got some slower songs which sound a bit like The Doors and we also got some hard rocking songs coming our way. I like the variation :)

Title: Re: Vlog #3: In The Studio Recording Libertad
Post by: justincrowe on January 20, 2007, 05:27:19 AM
i like the first song on vlog 2 (the one that was Doors-like), and the last song (rocker) on vlog 3.

apart from those there's some good riffing, but i'm not overly impressed so far...

sounds like Contraband vol 2 to me, and i wasn't a big fan of that album.

The song being played 30 seconds in is obviously the previously mentioned "Get Out The Door."

Probably, but what I meant is, I hear the same formula, even if the songs sound better, they could very well be in Contraband, with all this talk about making a different album (for ex:concept album-I know it was later scrapped- ), I just thought it would be different.

Check vlog #2. The first song played there doesn't sound like anything on Contraband.

Some songs will probably fit on Contraband, but others won't. I just hope it will be less repetitive. Contraband gets boring after a while, but what we've heard so far seems to be better.

If I would have to place bets, I'd say Libertad will be a lot better than Contraband. It could be the killer rock album Contraband should've been. Let's wait and see :)

I loved Vlog #2, especially the Doors stuff just hit me. This one did not do the same. Maybe it was the editing or something. It just felt harder to get a feel for the music. The video did however fuel my curiosity, so as a teaser thing it was probably perfect.

Matt elaborated to the differences a bit last night on Camp Freddy Radio, mentioning it being more raw, stripped down and heavier in general.? He discussed the differences in production style from Abraham to O'Brien as well.?

The podcast of the show should be up soon, I'm sure someone will link it as it becomes available.

Had a sort of Dust N Bones sound to it.

But all the music sounds REALLY good, way better than contraband.
