Now, before I start this new thread, I would like to start by saying I AM NOT asking any of you whether or not you prefer the previous or current line up. I AM asking this : Assuming that GN'R and VR both drop there albums this year: If both bands (and I'm sure they will be) are present for the 07 VMA's and Axl would happen to run in to Slash/Duff or both say in the Green Room while there: What do you guys think would be the extent of the conversation, if any ??    :o

They would sit down, have a conversation laugh about the old times, shake hands and go there seperate ways. There only people.

i can't see Slash & Axl talking together.

A better question is what will happen in 2012 when they get inducted into the RnR hall of fame?

Im sure they would be friendly to each other, maybe not talk for hours but a few minutes. Depends how much they have had to drink. The more drunk they are the longer the conversation will be, in my experience. :beer:

well axl does not hate slash..... they havent spoken for over 10 years since slash left. but it would be cool if they like say hey to each other and walk seperate ways lol. i think GUNS N ROSES WILL PERFORM AT THE END OF THE 2007 AWARDS. i think that they was supposed to perform at the 2006 VMAs but axl thought forget it, so they just asked him to present the killers right at the end of the show. i know that has nothing to do with this thread lol.

GNR is better and more important than VR
MTV is not stupid to invite both

but MTV are clever, and they might weigh up the possibility of inviting both GNR N VR to see what happens between axl and slash n co if they see each other its good PR! :D

That's what I think too. It seems they're not ready to work together yet, but the seeds have been planted.

Slash might seek Axl out just to get back the keys he left at the redhead's house when he visited a couple Octobers ago.

They agree to a battle of the bands and phone in vote for the best band. Cue end to arguments on the forums and peace to all around!

What would Axl and Weiland say to each other? Or more importantly.... what would Axl tell Ferrer to do to Weiland? :nervous:

I tend to think Weiland wouldn't confront Axl because he knows he'd get his ass kicked.

Of course they would...its a large venue, and the worst that happens is a HUGE news story.

Matt Sorum has been taking shots at Axl in the press, but I wonder if he actually said those things to Axl's face when he met him in New York last year.

Then last night I went to a club called 6 and 8s.
While getting out of the cab I run into Sean Lennon who was leaving and when inside there was AXL ROSE. Oh my God.
I hadn't seen him in at least 6 years.
I walked over and said Hello.
We shoke hands.
And it was pleasant.
Later that evening I ended up in a loft somewhere in the East Village.
Where Axl was again.
We spoke for quite sometime. And it was nice to clear somethings up.
I told him how great of a frontman he was while I was in the band and no hard feelings from me at all.
It was an all around
Good vibe I think.

After the party ended. Axl gave me a
Ride back to my hotel
In his suburban.


Very different from some of the things said in interviews over the years after he was fired from GN'R.

Axl & Slash will talk about the old days and what their plans are in the near future. They both also will perform a acoustic version of Don't cry.

In that situation i think that axl will not show up, easy has that.

The question about the Rock N Roll hall of fame is a great one...considering the Hall invites who goes...Axl, Slash, DUff, STeven, Dizzy, Matt, and Izzy are all locked.....but its a good question about the new guys...I think by 2012 the new band will have established themselves and sold enough records so that they are invited too...it would be crazy if the hall only invited the original line up though....oh man...and they thought Van Halen was going to be complicated....

Sure. The two can talk about how cool it was when Slash showed up at Axl's place at 5 am and broke down, confessing that Axl was right all along and that he was the strong one, and how much Slash hates Scott and Matt. ;)

I dont think Axl would turn up if VR were there. As for the Hall of Fame thing, well why would they be inducted? The last 14 years have put paid to that I reckon.

i think if that happened they would both either get along like old pals or they'd fight :nervous:

I've also wondered about the Hall of Fame thing.  If Axl's feeling reclusive at that point, it may resolve itself quite easily.

Rock N' Roll HOF.... I predict that Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Matt and Dizzy all go... play a few songs for old times sake... hardly talk to each other.... and go back to their lives. 

How is this different than things Axl and Izzy said throughout the years? Izzy did not have good comments about the new GNR, and for years, Axl has said bad things about Izzy-rockstars talk all the time-I think it's unfair to single out Matt Sorum-Axl also said things about Lars Ulrich, including dedicating Double Talking Jive to him years ago, and called James Hetfeild a racist-I'm not attacking Axl, but don't single out Matt as someone who changes his tune

As long as things are pleasent, I don't think we should judge how they got there. Axl is currently on good terms with Izzy, Matt, Gilby, etc., and that's a good thing. Let's just leave it at that.

As for Axl & Slash at the VMA's. They are going to have to co-exist with each other, and they know it. Otherwise GN'R is going to steal events from VR and vice versa.

I think if they ran into each other, it'd be the same situation. Slash, "Hey Axl, how it's goin?", Axl "Fine man, you?", Slash "Pretty good, pretty good", Axl "Have a good show out there, i'll be watching", Slash "Thanks man, you too".

I think it'd be very PC and polite, personally.

I personally think they need to sit down, hug, and have a big long cry with each other. Life's too short, and it'd just be healthier for the both of them, as people, regardless of whatever is going on musically in their lives.

even though i'm not on any ones side in this arguement cause i respect both Slash and Axl on a very high level, but i highly doubt that that will happen ::)

so i've read all your dream meetings some of you people tend to forget that the two bands have an album coming out and a band usually tours behind an album. so, i think none of them will be there at the awards, they will be on tour rocking out in who knows what part of the planet. sorry, no axl & slash meeting  :no:

Why wouldn't they talk if they'd meet each other there.. I mean.. they're grown up. They're no little kids. Axl has been acting really good with Izzy and also when he met Matt. So why not? They're mature people now..

That's what I think too. They are grown men, more mature now, and they'll at least be able to co-mingle in the same room with each other. The only problem I see is if someone forces them on each other, where they become uncomfortable.

Kind of like that time where someone lied to Vince Neil, and told him there was someone he just had to meet, and it ended up being Tommy Lee, after their bad blood. Or however that event went.

But like Supaplex said, both of them will probably be touring to support their albums, and won't make the VMA's.

If I were Axl I would never talk to any of these punks, considering their attacks at him through the years...They even let this asshole Scott Weiland poaring tons of shit on Axl...But the truth is - you can replace everyone of them and still you'll have GNR, the only one you couldn't replace is Axl...Cuz Axl is GNR...It's like Stones without Mick Jagger or Queen without Freddie - can't imagine such thing, can you...
Regarding the topic...a reunion in the near future is very possible cuz it would be a lot of money for all of them, and when it'll come to money they will fall in love with each other again...There is a small chance though this will not happen - Axl finaly delivers his Chinese Democracy and the album blows everybody's minds..Like the Appetite did back in 1987...And if he can get like 12 songs as good as Better and TWAT, there will be a chance...
