So, what are everybody's thoughts as far as Izzy possibly having done some recording sessions on Democracy. True or bs ?? What do you think ?

No chance. This is all about the new band. Izzy was just a guest, to add something nostalgic from the tour. Besides that, three guitarists is enough and Izzy loves to do his own thing.

Oh, I must have misunderstood the reason for having a fansite. What's so wrong w/ specualting if Izzy is on the CD ? It's not like I started the thread by saying " I heard it's been confirmed that Izzy is on the cd." I'm just asking for opinions, not facts.

Maybe on backing vocals on a song or something, not expecting major input, but like bazgnr said this is pure speculation. ?;D

Open speculation should be fine.  Speculation disguised as fact through ignorance, incompetence or deceit; obviously not. 

He may have a songwriting credit or two, but I think that's as far as it will go. And that's only if he is involved at all, which I'd doubt.

I don't think so. I think most of the songs on CD are from before Izzy and Axl back together.

I think he would only help writing, not actually recording something.

i bet his vocals pop up on one song...at least!

I was far from taking some kind of shot at you, and I meant no offense if that's how it came off (and personally, I'd love it if Izzy contributed to the album in some way). ?Lately, it doesn't take much for most "what if" threads to quickly become "new band vs. old band," and rampant, unfounded rumor and speculation...I suppose I should have said "I'm going to wait until the album comes out..."

No worries. I didn't take it as you taking a shot at me. I was just saying, it seems like a fair thread to start. Everything at the moment is speculation and if we don't speculate than we have nothing. Here's to having something "firm" soon.

Maybe on a writing credit. We know he wrote one song for Axl way back when, Deep Blue Ocean or something, there's always a chance there would be more we don't know about. And he was jamming a bit with the new guys according to one of the backstage reports, but that doesn't mean a song.

I said no chance because I got a feeling that axl wants this to be a "new" guns record....so that means no ties to the "old"....

He probably won’t be on CD. In think he got back together with Axl a little too late in the process. But what do I know? I’ve been known to be wrong in the past. And a couple of those times I’ve not minded at all. This time it wouldn’t be any different  :)

Probably under Axl's or the bands thank yous in the booklet.

I think there's probably a 50/50 chance. I personally don't think he'll be on there, but I also wouldn't be shocked if he is.

He may not do anything that we think off the top of our heads. One would assume writing or guitar tracks, but you never know, Izzy sung some of his stuff, he may just lay some backup vocals on something. Who knows, just theory.

Izzy mentioned it in an old interview. It was a song he wrote that Axl initially rejected then later called him up for again. If you search this forum you can find info for it because it's been talked about on here before. Was back in the 90s though so who knows if it survived, but then a lot of these songs have been around a long time.

maybe eminem will sing on cd....maybe john lennon will sing a duet with axl...maybe you all have no clue if izzy will appear...have patience, cd is coming soon.

Me, I think he'll be on it in some way. Maybe backing vocals. I'm not a big fan of the backing vocals that the current guys provide.

Hmm.  If showing up in the "Thank You's" counts as being on CD, then perhaps.  Actually participating in the recording/songwriting?  Unlikely...at least for now.

As great as that would be, I think this particular album needs to stand on it's on two feet.  No objections if he appeared on the follow-up though.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had writing credits. I mean, think about the illusions where people like wes arkeen and del james got writing credits. They were people who dealt with the band but weren't actually IN the band. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if Izzy helped write something perhaps during the summer or even prior to that. I mean, we don't know how long axl and izzy have actually been talking again so it really is possible.

Is it true that you credited songs for the new Guns album, Chinese Democracy?

"In 95 Duff and me recorded songs for the band. We made a tape that went nowhere. Then, a couple of months ago I have a message on my answering machine: Yo! It's Axl, I need a copy of the songs that you did. There was one called "Down by the Ocean" or "Down by the Sea", they may have used it, I haven't come back to know nothing."

Izzy: I spent my summer vacation touring with Axl`s new gnr and had some fun playin live again. Amazing fans out there.... It's hard to believe at times. Fantastic! GnR tour: Axl and I connected via cell phone [digital] this year, I stopped bye to see if he looked as old as he might be............same age as myself, you know and he looked great!, and it was nice to reconnect with an old friend/war buddy/fellow musician. I told him later I`d like to join the fun in some way and he said I was welcome to come and play something, so I did! Took me about 3 weeks to recover from the 6 weeks of touring!


Eventhough I wouldn't be suprised if Izzy's guitar is on CD it probably won't cause he hasn't mentioned anything about it the news updates during the tour and the podcast interview. I think if Izzy had recorded something for it he would've mentioned it somewhere at some point.

I am willing to believe he wrote some stuff with Axl & Richard.. But I highly doubt he'd be playing on Cinese Democracy, thank God! :yes:

true...backing vocals by the current lineup suck....nothing compared to members of original band....glad axl still rocks though!
