Hey guys!

A few days ago I posted a link to a "comparison video" for SCOM with clips from "now" and "then." Unfortunately, it seems this video upset some people and they told Jarmo that it was in violation of copyright and I was asked not to post the link again. I have respected Jarmo's wishes and will not link to it again. I just am bringing this up so that the mods won't think I'm re-posting the same link again - this is entirely different.

Basically, I had such a fun time putting that video together, and while compiling it I fell in love with SCOM all over again, and so it compelled me to make a live era video.

Hopefully since this isn't the same as combining "now and then" and it's just a general music video it won't violate any rules. I hope it doesn't upset anyone, and if by chance anyone is concerned about copyright you can feel free to contact me and I'll gladly remove the link from HTGTH myself - I won't ignore your request. But as far as I'm aware it's no different than other fan-made live era videos, and I used available clips from GN'R sites including HTGTH.

Anyway, as for the video - I didn't try to do anything fancy. I only used three or four different shows since I don't have many good-quality performances on my PC. Early on I was going to combine it with footage of beautiful women from movies/TV but decided against that - it would have taken something away from it, I think, and been kinda tacky.

Let me know what you think. Hope you all enjoy it!

I'm curious.  In doing a "comparison video" with clips from "now" and "then"... what were you trying to compare?

I wasn't really comparing anything in particular - it was more of a contrast. I put clips of SCOM from the Ritz alongside clips of SCOM from Rock Am Ring and KROQ.

But my topic on it was deleted, so I'd rather not discuss it now and have this go off-topic. Thanks.  :)

hmm anyway, if you make a video from '06, '02 and '01 w/ the new band would be nice ;)
maybe Rock am Ring version or Island Invasion. Both were nice. :)

nice job on the video....everything was in sync..something most fan made videos cant seem to do for some reason...what did you edit it with...final cut, Avid or something else??

It was Adobe Premiere.

I've edited a feature length documentary in Final Cut Pro before, as well as having worked at CNBC in London and I used Final Cut there for editing the nightly news. So, I'm used to both, and Final Cut is nice, and more reliable, but I think Premiere is easier to use - especially for simpler tasks such as a music video.

Thanks for the nice comments.  :)

Nice editing job!  : ok:

Would've made a nice Live Era '87-'93 SCOM video release in '99.
