Why is everyone so fixated on "Prostitute"? It baffles me. I know we know nothing of it really but it seems like everyone wants to hear that song.

Unheard - This I Love - Mainly because it was written way back and was going to be on the GN'R album with Slash before the band broke apart. I'd love to hear a little bit as to what might have been coming had they stuck together.

Heard - The Blues - It was close between this and TWAT, but if Buckethead's parts aren't on TWAT then it will probably not be as good as the demo IMO, so The Blues it is.

If I had to chose from the leaks, it would be "The Blues," hands down.   Given how much it's changed over the years, I have high expectations for the studio version.

I am voting for "There Was A Time" and i hope Buckethead's solo is still on the album. Nothing against Ron but Bucket's guitar work is amazing on this song.

...and you've heard Ron's studio work on There Was a Time?  I'm sure you have.  I guess you wouldn't try to compare someone's live take (played twice live...one being the first goddamn show just a couple weeks after joining the band) with that done and redone in the studio by Bucket, nah you wouldn't do that now would you?

My answer to the thread's question is easy.  My favorite since the first fucking time I heard it...There Was a Time.  Of course, I am dying to hear every damn song, but, you said we had to choose only one.   :)

definitely Rhiad.  The cleaned up "remastered" boots or the leaked demos will get me by for all the rest of the songs.. but the one that i think that has the most to gain would be Rhiad.  i hope they play it live again.. i would like to hear what the 07 version of gnr would do to revamp it.  the 02 version sounded a bit incomplete

They are just song titles WHO KNOWS what they sound like.  I'm going with THE GENERAL, or SEVEN.

For me Buckethead's solo is just perfect, no matter if I like him or not. I didn't criticise Ron at all.

I'd be too curious not to pick the re-recorded Welcome to the Jungle ... this other stuff we'll eventually get to hear (sooner or later), but that one won't be coming out ever (or at least for a LONG time ... like post-Axl's life ... and perhaps mine, too).

Same here. Rhiad studio will kick ass for sure... But I don't think it sounded incomplete - the song was the more intricated from the 2001/02 new songs and was judged unfairly because of the quality of the boots. That would change with the studio version! :headbanger:

This I Love, or The General. Both sound like they could be great songs.. But, if neither even exist, There Was a Time for sure.. I'd like to see how it's evolved over the years, in the studio at least.

I also completely agree. I definitely look forward to hopefully hearing Ron on some of the tracks but I really hope that they keep Buckethead's guitar work on T.W.A.T.

Normally I would say Better since I love the song so much, but I feel the demo is already a pretty crisp version and pretty close to what the album track will sound like.

Otherwise, I guess Sorry since it could have the potential to sound much different than the others we've heard so far.

Chiming in for TWAT too.  Agree with keeping Bucket's solo at the end.  Phenomenal.  The shorter version without his solo just doesn't compare.

Wow reading this thread has really gotten my excited about some songs... I mean the old quotes about Oklahoma and Prostitute, shit i forgot about those.. bot songs sound deep and powerful.. As far as BHs solo in TWAT, I think it will stay.. If Ron's does get on there, I'll dig that...

I'd love to hear a studio version of Silkworms. With studio effects that'd have to be an absolute trip-fest of a song.

I want to hear a new version of rhiad and silkworms.  I think there's a lot of potential on these tracks and they will be great songs with a little work.

Definately Better! I'm really curious how a full produced and mastered track like Better will sound... that way I can cranck it out loud on my car with much better quality than the demo.

Well we've heard studio demos of IRS, Better and Catcher In The Rye, so it wouldn't be any of them. The Blues is good, but I'm kinda over that song a bit now, especially with the new arrangement. CD is a great rocker, but not my fav rocker of the new tracks (Better is so much better). So my pick would have to be Madagascar. I think a studio version of that would sound so fucking EPIC!!!! :beer:

Since Chinese Democracy will be coming out in March, I am going to choose the re-recorded, unreleased Rocket Queen from 1999.
