Title: Guns N Roses mentioned on Sean Hannity's nationwide radio show
Post by: Bodhi on January 10, 2007, 04:29:16 PM
coming back from break they played Sweet Child, in which conservative talk show host Sean Hannity says that Appetite is "one of the greatest rock n roll albums ever."  He also said Axl Rose is the opposite of everything he ever stood for yet he is still a huge fan....Hannity then went on to say "We are still awaiting GNR's next album, which is due out in 37 years" ...haha got a kick out of that one.... Hannity's show is the second most listened to show in the nation...pretty cool to mention the new record on there....

haha I'll take anyone as a GNR fan....you dont become the biggest band in the world by just catering to one point of view....remember Kurt Cobain thought  Axl was a right wing dickhead too..politics don't matter....GUns N Roses were never a political band...thank god...otherwise i would probably hate them...like I hate Audioslave and Rage....

I agree with JohnSDMF, GNR's all about rock n' roll.  I listen to Hannity on my way home because it's my only option for talk radio...an ass-hat he is and not just because of his political stance.  He's an ass-hat because he's rude to callers with different opinions and/or ideas.

That's cool that he's a fan of GNR though.  To be honest, Chinese Democracy's going to surprise alot of people.   8)  I'm very happy for the band...that is if the album is truly finally almost done!

He's an asshat's asshat on top of that. Very funny that he likes GnR. It does suit his angry white man persona quite well when you think about it.

Regardless of your politics...I would think that GNR would be o.k. with him plugging Chinese Democracy.

The Sean Hannity Show now airs on over four hundred radio stations throughout America. His audience is in the neighborhood of 14 million people.

the only argument liberals have is to bash the right wing stance, as their own view points can't hold any water. i lean to the left but bashing people only hurts the side your on.

for people to say that it matters if your a republican or a democrat to listen to a cd is so petty. for godsake keep politics out of it. so he loves gnr, thats great, and its awesome publicity for gnr. so who the hell cares what side hes on? all that matters is that he promotes it in a positive way and not in a negative way.

I could care less about the politics in my music.  If the music's good, I'll listen to it, regardless of the politics (with some exceptions from seriously racist acts, etc....though they mostly make crappy music, anyway).  Axl and Izzy are from Indiana...not exactly the most liberal state in the union.

I am a little surprised when really conservative people like something like GNR, not because their politics and the bands don't mix, but because they're sure to find some of the material objectionable.  "Turn around, bitch, I got a use for you" anyone?  If Hannity would play that on his show...I'd listen.  ;)

Sean Hannity is a douche bag. He's a prime example of everything that's wrong with the Republican party.

I actually had the misfortune of working with Sean Hannity before he became a national "star".  If you saw the way he treated people around him you wouldn't like him so much.  Ass-hat, douchebag, insert your favorite derogatory term here.  And that was when he was a nobody, now I can't imagine how much his ego must be running amok.

But he likes GNR.  That's nice I guess.  Don't know many other GNR fans who'd open their show with Martina McBride but OK...

No, there's more wrong in the Democratic party right now, than Republican.

Guns N' Roses has a TON of Republican fans... probably the vast majority of GN'R fans in the Midwest, Plain States and Southeast are Republicans. Hell- probably the vast majority of Western Canadian GN'R fans also lean conservative...

Get over it people. ::)

Just because you don't agree with someone's political views doesn't mean they shouldn't like GNR. This isn't Nirvana!

No one is saying that. The point is that you don't have to respect or like someone just because they like GNR. There was a story a few months back (probably fake) that
one of Bin Laden's wives said that OBL was a Van Halen fan.....

EXACTLY!! For a guy who pretended to be so open minded and understanding Kurt Cobain, was the most close minded fuck in the history of music.  Liberals are all about "Free Speech" unless you are saying something they don't agree with..Regardless...Guns N Roses are beyond politics..they appeal to the masses, it is sad that we happen to have some close minded GNR fans, but when you have as many fans as they do, not all of them are going to be perfect...

Amen. Both political parties are facing some big challenges. Dems need a platform, Reps need to distance themselves from corporate America.

I just never ever wanted to have anything in common with that jackass.  ALL politicians are crooks and liars.  Worse than that are the pundits like Hannity that swing from their nuts.
And from reading others posts on here, I'd hardly call it "promotion".  If someone listened to that show and said to themselves, "Gee, Hannity likes GNR, maybe I'll listen to them too" they should do everyone a favor and kill themselves, for being brainless morons.

Exactly. I just don't like Hannity. I like Bush, America's president, so what does that mean?

I'm just saying because someone is a GN'R fan, doesn't mean you have to like them. Mike Piazza is a GN'R fan, and i've always thought he's a completely selfish baseball player.

You know, I opened this thread to hear about how he mentioned GN'R on his show and to see a discussion about it.

What I didn't want to see was whether he was a gimp or not, or a republicans vs. democrats debate.

As mainly, I don't give a fuck.

Take it to the jungle.
