Here Today... Gone To Hell!

What promotional material have you noticed happening around yyour local aera , for example , guns n  roses played on the local radio . Like my local radio station Chiltern FM in bedfordshire , played a heavily edited version of Sweet Child O Mine during lunchtime today they cut iout most of the solo which sucked and it was mostly just singing . This station doesnt play this sorta song , only plays take that , kelly clarkson , snow patrol.... usual popy hits of 2006  .
But Never guns n roses , today was the first time in like 3 months ive heard it on there when im at work, and im at work nearly everyday so i have to put up with the same tripe all the time.. So hopefully if Axl words are right , this is the start of there promotion to get people to realise guns n roses are alive and maybe get more guns n roses tracks into the playlist rotation.
Is this what he meant by proper  promotion, get more radio stations to play guns n roses leading up to the release date to get them to like them more ??
Well if this is the case, in this thread post any signs youve seen of possible promotion be it playing of old guns n roses songs or articles in local papers .
Could be interesting to see if there is more promotion closer to the date .
and what the promotion actuall is.

Nah sorry, promo hasnt started yet. You will hear more Guns songs on the radio now because the British Charts have just had a major revamp. Digital downloads of any song that was ever a single can now be listed in the charts, so if Sweet Child o mine gets alot of downloads radio stations are going to see it and play it.

Also the heavily edited version of Sweet Child is the UK radio edit, its shit but whatever, at least it gets some airplay.

When promo starts we will know about it - right now there isnt anything to promote as its still not finished!  :no:

when you hear "chinese democracy is great" on the radio. than that's promotion. everything else is just pure wishfull thinking.

PROMOTION DOES START NOW!!!!!!!!  I have on my GN'R pajama pants and a GN'R shirt!!!!  My neighbors might see them when I take my dog out or go out to smoke... so that's promotion!!

well they ocassionaly play Sweet Child or Paradise City on my local radio station, which is your typical mainstream station, playing what yours plays. and yes they do cut out the solo. theres no point in playing an old song to get promotion for a new album.

OH SHIT! I had on my pajama pants and a guns shirt on earlier today. I even went to the store and bought smokes wearing it. Oh god it has started! They are turning us into human advertising machines.

I'm not familiar with this, and I can't imagine why they would want to edit that beautiful piece of music.  Everyone loves that song, and it's a great solo.

Simple, radio stations see solos as another opportunity for more commercials. SCOM solo is what, about a minute?  That's two commercials!   :rant:

Hmm...the stations around here don't cut the GNR for commercials.
