Title: GNR canvas prints by George Chin
Post by: chineseblues on January 07, 2007, 06:37:18 PM
George Chin has just done a deal with The Cult Art Gallery to sell canvas prints of some of his pictures. There are several of Axl and Slash as well as a lot of other bands and artists. You can check them out here http://www.cultart.com/artists.asp?typeK=photographer&ArtistID=12&currentcollection=24&s=0

I could be wrong on this, but as I understand it... the word Gicl?e essentially means they're high quality inkjet prints. ?However, yes, it sounds like they're printed on canvas rather than traditional photo paper. ?Also, I would imagine they're printed on archival paper with archival ink, but it doesn't say.

Cheers,
W.R. ?

What  a rip-off..   I have a business that has the capability of producing Hi-Quality prints onto canvas. There are many different types of canvas, from artist canvas to rubber based materials. These can then be wrapped and stapled around a wooden frame. The largest canvas on sale here for ?495.00 ($895.00) would cost no more than ?50.00 ($90.50) to produce.

However I do appreciate that pictures were taken by George Chin which would add value, but we have all seen those pictures 1000 times.

George Chin has a great pictorial book of the band charting early photo sessions from early 1987. A brilliant book, came out in around 1991, I bought it when it came out, it is prob long out of print, I would would recommend a search on Ebay every now again, its a worthwhile purchase...
