Here Today... Gone To Hell!

a couple of my friends called me about a gnr song they never heard on the radio, one of them knew it was Better from bootlegs they heard through me, I live in Toledo Oh, 104.7 is the station I have not been able to get through to them to comfirm, are any other stations playing it?

well do they know the difference between the bootlegs and a studio one? or are they the type to play jokes...well i dont know if its true or what not but i hope so, i cant wait to hear the studio version

It's probably the leaked demo or a live cut.

Friday would be a weird day for a single to start surfacing.

I think that he merely meant that his friends new that the song was called Better, from having heard the demos in the past.

Its obviously just the demo.

If it were the single, it'd be all over and maybe even a statement from GNR.

Soon enough fella's..... I give it another month or so before we see a single though.

would not be considered proper promotion on the average.

That's what i'm thinking. If the projected release date is still on target, we should be hearing something very very soon.

Its probably just one of the demos. We wont get the official single from Toledo, Ohio. When it does drop expect it to hit the big markets first.

i dont know but a while back like last May my radio station i listen to Z92 out of Omaha, NE were playing IRS but a week later they got a letter saying "dont do it again or we'll sue your ass" atleased thats what the DJ said when i called him about it.  :-\

Axl said they would do the marketing the right way...a sudden single in Ohio is NOT the right way.  It's a demo.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but remember that the release date isn't carved in stone. The album could be out in March or not. I've been waiting 14 years for this album so I'm not some asshole just trying to start some shit with negative vibes, so please, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We've all been through this before and been disapointed.

i think what will happen is when the band finish up whatever they are doing they will tell the fans via the website that the album has been handed in, or hey, thats what they should do!

several radios aired the leaked demo since some months

I'm still thinking the first radio single will show up around January 23rd or so. That would make the album's release date of March 6th still very possible.

All of the stations under our corporate umbrella are already airing singles from new albums set to hit stores in March. So, yes, its very likely and possible.

Not possible or likely, it's what needs to happen if it's to be released early March. Not looking too good though. Time's running out once again.

You'll hear "Better" as the single around the Super Bowl. That's when the Harley ad will re-emerge, or possibly an album promo. Just my thinking.

Surely it'll be at least after Jan 16th, since we know they'll have done some studio time by that point.

Couldn't you just go to WIOT.com (104.7 website) and see their tracklist or e-mail the dj to ask them?

I showed a friend the demo version of Better and she said she loved it. She will even burn the demo and listen when she is working. She said that she really wants to listen the full studio version. I said "I think that in some weeks this music will be a single... we'll see".

yeah i agree that it's the demo but a single shouldn't be far off  ;D

i think before a single hits the radio we'll get to see the artwork for the album.
and the single might not be available for us to buy. it could be just a release for the radios with a video and the first pressed product available to people might be chinese democracy

I still have a hunch that we've SEEN the artwork...the black image of the Chinese man, in a boat, with a red background that's displayed during the playing of "Chinese Democracy."  I think it could be a cool, iconic album cover, because it's a simple image, and the color red is so connected with China/communism, etc.  Just a thought, but I wouldn't be surprised.  It would be cool if the stained glass shown during Maddy were in the booklet, too. 

i didn't say we haven't seen it, i'm just saying it will be made official.
so the first thing i'm expecting is not a single but a press release of some sorts presenting the artwork.

Sorry, wasn't trying to put words in your mouth.  Either way, I think good artwork will be important for this album.  All their previous covers have had bold colors, but simple art.  Striking, and easy to remember.  Especially the Illusions.  That's why I think the on screen imagery when they play Chinese Democracy might make for a good cover.

GN'R played "Chinese Democracy" neither of the times I've more recently been fortunate to see them. So, I'm in the dark on this image. Does anyone have a picture of it they could post or send me? It sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't remember it specifically and I've never seen that song performed live. Thanks.

Personally I liked the Warfield poster artwork. That'd make a great album cover. It's like Chinese Democracy meets Use Your Illusion.
