Title: Re: AXL'S tattoo Post by: The Legend on January 05, 2007, 02:18:27 AM his tats look terrible. he has not taken care of them at all Well they are mostly over 20 years old. Title: Re: AXL'S tattoo Post by: Miggy on January 05, 2007, 03:34:33 AM In fact, there's a lot of difference between inks. Mine is done with natural ink instead of chemical. The tattoo-guy said those collors are much better and don't fade like the chemical ones.

From experience, my oldest tatts were done 17 years ago, I've found that certain colours (yellow in particular) fade far more than other colours and, as other people have said, the only way to remedy this is to get them retouched.? Personally, I like the 'lived-in' look and wouldn't want anything redone as to me they're part of my history and have worn in, so to speak, along with the rest of my body.? ?;D Title: Re: AXL'S tattoo Post by: babydolls on January 05, 2007, 05:09:24 AM agree with you Cyllan - i have two and had my earliest done 11 years ago - it could do with a touch-up but I have put it off because I like it looking as aged as it is. its been through the mill with me, so why not! Unless its a specific design that has got really patchy - i think some classic fading is totally fine. (note: i dont mean black-gone-green nautical nightmares!)
Axl's look great - i looked at them as close as I could at the gigs last year - i think they look well-aged. Title: Re: AXL'S tattoo Post by: Meanmachine22 on January 05, 2007, 05:50:39 AM unless you are a "heayvy sun user" ::) tattoos need to be touched up from time to time. I just had my right arm redone last year. The original tattoo(-s) was like 10 years old and needed some work done
Title: Re: AXL'S tattoo Post by: The Legend on January 05, 2007, 06:00:41 AM Tattoos need TLC just like anything else. Just like if you had a new house, you wouldn't paint it once, and never again. Eventually it'd need some freshing up after awhile.
Tattoos are no different. Title: Re: AXL'S tattoo Post by: cyllan on January 05, 2007, 07:06:00 AM Tattoos need TLC just like anything else. Just like if you had a new house, you wouldn't paint it once, and never again. Eventually it'd need some freshing up after awhile. Tattoos are no different. Hmm, I beg to differ here; matter of personal preference, I'd say.? I regard my tatts as a lot more personal than the house I occupy.? To me, and if I had to liken it to anything else, the question would be more akin to whether to accept the ageing process or go the botox route.? And I know which choice I'd make there.? But, each to their own, after all it's your body and so should be your choice to make. Title: Re: AXL'S tattoo Post by: AdZ on January 05, 2007, 08:27:23 AM You want to botox your tattoos? :nervous:

But, each to their own, after all it's your body and so should be your choice to make. I can see the personal preference, and once i'm 'ancient' old, I probably won't touch them up anymore, but I usually like them to look as fresh as the day I got them.
