Check out the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgPLBhhGTM0 I assume that's the live version. The studio version is even better. Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: asianstyles on January 02, 2007, 11:03:26 AM The studio version is awesome, but its also sweet to see him play it live.
Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: Top-Hatted One on January 03, 2007, 03:10:22 AM my favorite too...live version is way better though
Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: AdZ on January 03, 2007, 07:58:36 AM To me it just seems like an alright song without vocals, then a shred solo.
If this is one of his best.. well. Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: polluxlm on January 03, 2007, 12:03:38 PM To me it just seems like an alright song without vocals, then a shred solo. If this is one of his best.. well. Well, this is just the stuff you can find on youtube: Plastination Station, Binge and Grab (instrumental) and Sketches of Spain are songs that many also consider to be his best, but they have not been played live, so you can't find them on YouTube, unless they're fan-made videos or something. If this is one of his best.. well. Try Nottingham Lace: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYxrdrzmuUw Nottingham is my favorite, at least of the purely instrumental tracks. Soothsayer is pretty good, as well, though. Thanks for the link(s)! Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: estebanf on January 03, 2007, 09:20:33 PM Soothsayer is a masterpiece, one of the best things I've heard in a long time.
Grab this, you'll love this performance: Buckethead Mississippi Nights, St. Louis, MO September 14, 2006 Herbie praising the crowd > Soothsayer MP3 Variable Bitrate (16 Mb) http://rapidshare.com/files/10117471/bhead2006-09-14d1t08_estebanf.mp3.html Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: EFISH on January 03, 2007, 09:24:01 PM Thanks esteban. :D

Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: Top-Hatted One on January 05, 2007, 08:32:16 AM of course songs like binge & grab, welcome to bucketheadland, nottingham lace are amazing but Bucket really out did himself with Soothsayer. Buckethead just gets better with age.
AdZ you should go see a show....I always like Bucket but I didn't become a HUGE fan until I saw him live...whole other experience, my jaws dropped with some of the things he does live. Since then I been to about a dozen shows. Every show is different! Don't know how he does it. I do prefer the studio verison of Soothsayer though. Some of the tricks he inserted in the studio version make it just a touch better I think. Title: Re: Buckethead - Soothsayer Post by: GnR-NOW on January 17, 2007, 09:24:02 PM Just imagine songs like soothsayer, nottingham lace, big sur moon + Axl's vocals and the new GNR. I hope his parts and contributions are intact for CD. Soothsayer with Axl's lyrics would be fucking epic !
