Rolling Stone has turned into a bunch of smart asses with an axe to grind. I'm not responding to this story in particular, but you can see aspects of it here too. Story's OK. She kind of supports Axl's side and not the other band's side, which is cool. Of course, we know from people who were there that they were booed and left early.

This is what Tommy and Merck said before.  EODM was fired for cutting their set short, among other things.  Nice to hear that the Suicide Girls and Axl are cool though.  I don't think the Suicide Girl was saying those things to kiss ass for a future tour like that writer implied.

Jason Gordon, I hope you are ran over by a bus.

The last comment basically implied that anyone with anything positive to say about Axl are just sucking up to get somewhere. The girl gave him an honest response, much in line with what Baz said about the ordeal, and because it's pro-Axl, she's sucking up. So if she'd said, "Axl that asshole, he fired them for no reason", she would've been truthful and it made the front page of RS?

Ripping off the kids while they be payin' their hard-earned money to read about the bands they want to know about... RS - suck my fucking dick.

Of course everyone is going to get a shot in at Axl since the album REALLY is coming out soon. They have to get all there "Democracy will come to China before it comes from Axl" jokes now before they have nothing to say after the albums release.

I was at the concert. ?Part of it was the crowd was anxious to see GnR. ?Part of it was the sound wasn't very good. ?I could hear the music good, but when it came to the lyrics you couldn't understand a word the singer of POSM was singing. ?It was like he was mumbling into the mic. ?You could tell that they didn't know how to handle the crowd response as they kept looking at each other with a grin like What should we do now?

The crowd was not near as mean as the crowd when I seen GnR in the early 90's in Dayton at the Nutter Center. ?Soundgarden was the opening act, and a majority of the crowd was out by the concessions. ?The fans that remained to listen were booing non-stop. ?The lead singer for Soundgarden got mad and started yelling at the fans that they sucked. ?But at least they finished their time. ?That night GnR didn't take the stage until 1 AM, and played until 3 AM. ?Great time. ?Remember going to class the next day at Miami U. The professor was talking but I didn't hear a thing. ?My ears had a ringing sound for 3 days. ?I didn't talk to anybody unless somebody talked to me, because it was too frustrating trying to listen.

Another thing about the POSM. ?When Axl called them the Pigeons of Shit Metal. ?He was standing on the upper part of the stage in front of Frank and the drums. ?Tommy was on the lower part of the stage. ?In order for Axl to throw Tommy's guitar like the lead Pigeon said. ?Tommy would had to have thrown it up at Axl and would have took out the drums and everything else close by. ?And for Axl to throw it back down it would have definitly broke and everybody would have seen it. ?Total lie by the lead Pigeon.

Too bad there isn't video of it.

Why would you boo a band thats trying to entertain you? Seems GNR fans can be very closed minded to any of type of music. I know I was back in 91, it was GNR or nothing, I have grown up since.

True.

I'll add to say it was a rapid decline; In January they were all over the place because of Axl's exclusive comments in the Korn party. After that, RS just had to   go for the big one: The CD release date. Changing your stand over getting it wrong is not very professional.

What the hell is up with RS?  They used to be so nice about Axl and stuff.  They praised the demos, and now they are totally changing, almost 180 degree turn.  Maybe its because when the album didn't come out on the 21st it gave them a bad reputation?  probably.  I might have to cancel my subscription.  ::)

With Axl's letter out, RS shouldn't need to worry about a 'bad rep'. Sometimes magazines get their news wrong. Shit happens. They screw up the CD release date? Well, that's a first.

Rolling Stone articles have always been opinionated. It's nothing new. It's what gave the magazine its edge.

If they had written about the Scott/Axl feud and said something derogatory about Scott, everyone would be saying "Ha that was so funny, that writer is really cool and obviously is a fan of Axl's."

You know, I don't understand assholes booing the opening act.

I mean sure, if you're in New York and someone comes out and says "Fuck New York and everyone in it!!" or something then there will be booing, but it sucks ass when people just start booing a band they don't like. I mean they'll only be on for 45 minutes, why not just deal with it? If you can't do that, why not go grab a beer and chat to some people? Or, you know, open your mind and give them a fair chance.

But no, there's got to be some assholes ruining the show for whoever in attendance likes that band (and I don't care if that's only one person) and giving shit to a band that have busted their ass to get where they are and are just up there doing their thing (sometimes at the personal invitation of the act they're there to see).

Now, of course a band facing that should suck it up and play on for sure, but that doesn't excuse the people in the crowd from being dickheads.

Me either. I didn't care for Papa Roach. Not a fan of their music/sound, and simply aren't crazy about their songs. Did I leave? No. Did I boo? No. Did I throw stuff at them? No. I applauded them after every single song.

I don't have to like them, to acknowledge that they are out there trying 110% to entertain me and give me my money's worth, and I respect that. They were talented musicians (obviously) to be out there doing that.

I applauded them because of their effort & ability. Did I like it? No. But i'm glad they came out, had fun, and tried to entertain me.

I don't understand, nor will I ever, why some people want to be absolute assholes to the opening acts. Grow the fuck up!

What I was saying is that at many shows there is some assholes booing the opening act... I wasn't talking so much about the EODM situation... It just triggered the post.

That said, even if it was the majority of the place, it's still bullshit behaviour IMO.
I mean, you don't like them? So what? Someone might... Even if there was only 100 people digging EODM, why ruin it for them and give shit to a band that are at least out their trying to make a go of it while most of the crowd booing jsut wish they were?

I will never, ever boo a band unless they antagonise the crowd.
That said, I think EODM were foolish to storm of stage, they should have handled it far better. Performers have to be able to deal with adverse situations, and they must have known that opening for GnR would be tough from a crowd acceptance perspective.

Fans of Kiss and the Rolling Stones are also tough on opening acts-way tougher than GNR fans, we're not the only ones-I think everyone after the Baz set thought GNR would come on-I was there-we wanted to see GNR-that's a chance you take when you open up for a big band-suck it up, life goes on-by the way, Tommy was there for November Rain, I'm sure of it-the line about him not around for 4 songs is bullshit, and I don't recall a bass thrown

I took the I am not going to the show until time for GNR approach.  I was not interested in seeing the opening acts with the exception of "Baz",so I avoided that part of the show and just stayed home.

I would think that after arriving at a show as early as some fans do, waiting in line just to get the best seat, or the frontrow spot, getting buzzed up, and sitting through hours of "opening acts", 3 of them to be exact, well that is just a long boring time to be waiting for the real reason you came to the concert, it is no excuse for rudeness, but no wonder people get all shitty, that is a long wait, fans just get more irritable, drunk and rude over this amount of time, at least this is just my opinion.

Now, of course a band facing that should suck it up and play on for sure, but that doesn't excuse the people in the crowd from being dickheads.
Many reasons:

1) People think they are "cool." And don't even try to say people don't think that. People smoke because it's cool, wear leather because it's cool, dress like My Chemical Romance because it's cool, and like shitty music because it's cool. It works the other way, too. They like GNR, so they are assholes to people who aren't GNR-sounding.

2) Impatience - a huge flaw in today's society. "I want it now or I will throw a fit." We live in the time of Veruca Salt.

3) Mob mentality. If a few people are thinking it, then a few people do it, the people thinking it will join in.

There are other reasons, too. But as stupid as it is to boo them, they were stupid to leave the stage. That is what they were being paid for. A lot of people hate their jobs but they go to them because that is what they do. POSM have great jobs, and because one night went bad, they stormed off. Any other job: that would cause them to get fired, too. It was very unprofessional.

But that doesn't mean the crowd wasn't full of retards, too.

Because that wasn't some sort of editorial for his opinion. That was an article, that was an interview for facts, and he ended the interview with his opinion. That's not how it works.

He probably is anti-new band, and he was forced to cover it by RS, and that was his way of getting his dig in.

Agree 100 percent.

I mean boo all u want, Axl isnt comin on any faster.

Baz is a pimp? :smoking:

Isn't that Sebastian's wife, Maria?  Perhaps she lightened her hair.  She's beautiful, whoever she is.  I love the fact that she does not have a flat stomach!  She's gorgeous for showing it as it is!

Are you reading the thread? This was debunked a few replies up. The girl with Baz in that shot above is Reagan, one of the Suicide Girls. Besides the hair lightning, the girl above's titties aren't big enough to be Maria.

This is Maria...

Here's Maria, she's the one on the right.

Give me Tera.

But Maria is very hot. Especially considering she just kind of met Baz at a Skid Row show. It wasn't like she was in the biz or anything.

Sorry...I thought there was some confusion as to the woman's identity.

There was, but Robman & I debunked it. Her profile does look alot like Maria's however.

When I went to see Metallica one year with a bunch of other bands at the racetrack, bad place for a concert, Fred Durst was booed off the stage by all the Chicago fans because of his a-hole attitude and talking shit about hooking up with this one and that one and I even think he ripped on his fans a little. Chicago fans threw garbage and water bottles at his ass and he got pissed and walked off stage after the third song! They were supposed to play for like an hour or so and Metallica was quite pissed that they couldn't suck it up and play either. It threw the whole show off not to mention so many drunk people with nothing to do for an hour but drink! I think they were kicked off the tour shortly after that.

I believe if you don't like a band, find something else to do. But even if the crowd does boo, a professional would continue playing because they will eventually stop. I don't blame Axl for getting pissed at them - thankfully he had the foresight to send out the SGs again. During the Metallica show, they didn't do shit which got everyone more wasted.

And as for SG kissing Axl's ass - come on - naked hot bodies on stage and probably back stage too. They don't need to kiss his ass! He loves having them around! Playing in a rock band with an opening act of naked ladies is every straight guys dream come true!!!!!! I would be sending naked dudes bottles of champagne and whatever else if they were opening for me! Hell, that's like having gorgeous eye-candy at work every day! Especially long-hair naked dudes that are not gay...
