Didn't the Hammerstein guy sell his DV clones for like $100 for the 4 shows? Now I understand this is HD and all that, but in all reality, I don't think it should cost much more than that. If he'd sell it for that price like Hammerstein, I'd buy the copies and make a DVD out of it. I'd send him money tomorrow and cover all the costs if he told me he'd do the deal.

If we all wanted to do this, we could send money to a PayPal account or so, and then I could send it all in if you guys wanted me to do it. I know a lot of people got burned with the whole Darknemus thing, but ended up getting their money back right? So he ended up doing the right thing. This won't happen here, I hate people like that, as I got burned in that shit hole too, but got my money back in the long run. I want to get this done right this time, how it should be done!

I think that I could be able to do this, get all the $$$ in a PayPal account and send it if you guys all trust me? Either that or AF or someone else, whatever you guys want to do.

If we get 10 people to send $50 bucks, then we've got it covered. I can put like $150 maybe a little more towards it right now, not sure if I will, but if we get other people to send me the money I can just send him one big payment of $500. But like I said, I can put $100 maybe more towards it, so if we don't get that many pledges I guess I can eat some of the cost.

If you're not talking about me, then well there is always a risk sending someone money for DVDs. Even trading DVD's is risky. But I don't think hes a fraud.

We've got to come up with a game plan and if enough people will send some money and that, then we can get a kickass DVD.

Dude, it didn't cost you $500 to tape this show. Besides that, you got to see GNR and you filmed it so you can watch it over and over. Instead of sharing it with the fans who are dying to see this awesome thing you taped, you offer a crazy amount of money for it, which by the way is illegal.

it cost me around $100 to film this show, 9 hours of my time,  i used a $1700 camera and $100 mic's and my ass was sore as hell from sitting there for 3 hours during the hsow and waiting 3 hours,  and then i still didnt get home until 4am

And you're right, I havent bootlegged a show, but if I had, I wouldnt be charging people 500-600 dollars for a DVD of it, I'd share it to the fans for free.

Atleast this is being liberated. I still don't think what you're doing is right by any means, I prefer not to hear about it even existing if it's going to cost that much to liberate it. Anyway, can't wait to see it when we get enough money.

Hey guys,

Really appriciate those who have stepped up. I'm taking a huge responsibility here, but hey I think it'll be well worth it. Now for those people who have pledged, you know who you all are, now I would really appricaite it if you coudl PM me or IM me, whatever, and let me know how you're sending the money. Not to be a nuisance, I'd realy like to possibly get this done this week, we've got a good chunk of money pledged so far, now we just need those people to come through, as well as some more people.

Got a question.  It was shot in hi def, right?  So the when the clones are transferred, do you need a special cam to transfer the hi def?  Also who is doing the transfer?  I have my own opions on this situation that I'll keep to myself so as not to ruin what's going on, but I am curious about the transfer.

My Lil' brother has been looking for a jacket for a few months now. When I took him to the L.A. show on Dec. 20, he informed me that Tommy was wearing the jacket. Does anyone know what brand/type of jacket he was wearing?

I have an HDV camera, since DVD is SD only it will be the same quality if it is made off an SD or HD clone anyway- unless someone wants me to try making 720p files.

I think though with a dual layer dvd you can fit 40 mins of hd footage per disc, I'm getting a dual layer burner soon and am going to experiment with another show I filmed in HD on it.  But you can make 720p hd footage(like the sample the filmer provided) and fit that on regular dvds, If I can figure this stuff out I'd be up for making the hidef dvds of this show being that it seems I'm the only one here with a cam that can play back HD tapes besides the taper.

I noticed the original taper said he also has H.264 720p and WMV 720p files available from the show, which seems to indicate to me he has the entire show encoded to H.264 and WMV in 720p. Is he willing to send those out as well? Since not that many people have access to an HD-DV camera to encode the tape to digital files; it'd be a big help.

I can just imagine what this would look like on on a 720p projector!

I want to thank everyone who helped make this happen (knock on wood that it does happen), because I was skeptical about buying this. But, damn, after I saw the sample, I couldn't resist.

With that said it's funny how quickly we were able to round up the $500. I remember about 6 months ago some folks had an 18 page or so thread going about talking about trying to get the HOB show because someone could get it for a grand (or maybe it was the MTV rehearsals, I can't remember). That never went anywhere.

So I'm glad to see people here - how's the saying go - either shit or get off the pot.

Should have brought this out before, but I had someone who was going to cover a good amount of it, and then there was a misunderstanding.

We were originally scheduled to send the seller, $500. However I was under the impression we were getting everything with that SD-DV, HD-DV clones and 2 DVD set. But I got a message saying that in order to get all that, we'd have to send $700.

We now have $537.12 (after all PayPal fees, transfering from GNRDVDFUND to my bank account so I can do a money order too). We need about $150 more. Which can easily be done with 5 people sending $25.

I messed up, just not as bad as last time. I made a minor mistake that I thought was going to be covered, but due to two misunderstandings; me thinking a user was making a donation to cover the difference from the $500 to $700 ($200)...as well as me misunderstanding that the seller now wants $700.

If there are some people out there who are feeling kind, then please donate, and sorry I closed donations before. If not, like I've said before I'll just eat the rest.

That's the point. People hoard this stuff from fans, and guys like Cotis and all those that pitched in are trying to obtain, in order to make it available to everyone, and make the market smaller. Once it hits the internet for free download, the fuckin' lame ass bootleggers (the real ones, who do it for money, not the fans who do it for love), will be finished making money off of that show, and will be on to another. It's an endless fight.

All you need to do is wait till he is done.
You know they need to sell there recording 28 times on Ebay to get this amount of money together?
Now they only have to make 1 deal to cash in.
Why burn 56 dvd's to cash in 700 dollar/euro if you can do it with 2 dvd's, and 2 clone's!

Patience, yes we(cotis) is getting the hdv and sdv of this along with a 2 dvd set authored by the filmer.

I have talked to Cotis breifly and the hope is to get some others to author it also. I mean some of the best shows or the special shows have been authored by a bunch of people so no reason this show being the last of a great succesful 2006 can not be the same way have a few of the best get to author it as well.

Atleast that is my opinion since it had to be freed from a filmer by all your donations. Why not get as much out of it as we can.

Someday when the time comes and people have blu-ray or hd-dvd capabilities we will have the hdv for that, but that time is not soon.

Speaking of which, it's $750 for a Blu-Ray burner and $20 for a blank Blu-Ray disc. It'll be a few years before Blu-Ray becomes more mainstream.

Hello everyone! I'm new hear and I hope everyone is having a great start on this new year. I was at the show on the 20th and it was amazing! Ever since, I've been trying to see where I could possibly and eventaully get this show and then I run into this site! I know i'm  little late to pitch in, but I would like a copy of it in it's entirety. I am computer and technology impared to say the least. when it comes to downloading or changing formats or any other of this stuff I'm useless! Not sure. The guy is sending out tomorrow (no mail today due to MLK day), and he lives all the way across the country. It'll take 3/4 days to get here. So I'll get it Friday or so, then Saturday (if it comes Friday) I'll hopefully send out to the fastest seeders (timebomb, bandita, ssjgonitro, etc. so they can get it up online fast). If it comes Saturday, then everyones will be sent out Monday/Tuesday.

This fucking rocks. I can still remember when Cotis first suggested throwing in some scratch to liberate this and I was (no offense) laughing my ass off. Then I saw the show and watched the first person throw in some money, and I thought, damn, I need to be a part of this.

Still, I wasn't sure it woudl work. While I believed in Cotis, I didn't know if we'd get enough buy-in and enough folks here to trust the system and - hell - I don't know who the seller is or if he was cool - so there was that facotr.

But now . . . . Fuck yeah.

timebomb will be doing tracker.gnr.us, ssgotnitro will be doing PCT, I'm sure someone will upload to DIME. It'll get spread quickly. Unfortunately I cannot seed right now (maxed my upload/download limit for the month) or else it would be up at PCT right now.

Next month my limit is going to be 75GB upload and download so I'll be able to help seed at places that need seeding.

i loved the NJ 2 cam from NYC Bitch, it was excellent. this was an amazing show, great picture quality, sound, etc.

everyones going to have different opinions though. i think it ranks up there in the top 3, if it isn't the best.

No the quality is not as good..
The sample was a High Definition Sample.

The DVDs are Standard Definition.

It doesn't have that much quality loss, imo. Looks amazing playing it on my TV. No doubt its not 100% best quality it could be, you'd need a HD burner and either HD-DVD or blu-ray drive to play that. That will be coming in the future though.

i think the baltimore show had the best quailty thus far,,  i didnt see the dEc 20 show yet to tell

novarock was ok, but baltomores quailty was better,

Everyones burned, and all US packages have been sent. Couldn't send the international ones, because I didn't have an customs slips ahead of time to fill out, and they take some time to fill out. So Monday everyone international will be sent out!

Ok, thanks. Apparently, it isn't that difficult. :)

I just checked a bit of my partially downloaded torrent from Dime, it appears to be encoded non anamporphically (encoded to a full screen ratio with black bars on the top and bottom). Not meaning to nitpick, the quality is still awesome, but eventually someone will reauthor a dvd from the HDV tapes to increase the quality. It's not really a problem for me now, as I use a 4:3 TV to watch my DVDs, but it could be for others with a widescreen tv (since they'd have to actually zoom in to fill their TV screen).

Don't take that post wrong, not meant to be a complaint. This show is paving the way for High Def. GN'R boots! Soon we'll have this baby encoded for use on HD DVDs and Blu-Ray. From what I've watched of the download, the quality is kick ass. The best audience show GN'R I've ever seen.

I downloaded the first file from megaupload, but now it says that my download limit is exceeded? I just downloaded one fucking file - what can I do?

You just have to wait, there's a limit for free users. In an hour or so you'll be able to get the other file ;)

What pisses me off is the fact that there's never slots for me, they are always busy for my country. If I had the files I would put them on my webserver so all of you guys could download them.

Personally I would love to see this authored better.  Menus are kind of shitty and seems the main file are split so when YCBM ends it goes back to the menu.  Glad it's out here though, can't complain about the quality of the show.

According to one person I've talked to, the best quality available would be a lot of GB, not able to fit onto one dual layer disc. I've done some talking and lined up a couple people that might be able to do a 2/3 DVD set with the best quality.

I haven't gotten back to the other person yet, but we're looking at another 2 DVD set or so, with the best quality.

2 dvds/dual layer encoded off the HDV clone in 16x9 with pcm audio is the way to go

too bad not that many people are capable of transfering stuff from HDV clones, need a High-Def cam for that right?

^No. I have a similar program called 'MacTheRipper' for mac. It's pretty much the same. It can de-css any protected DVD.

Anyways, I'll have a look around online later today when I'm outta school, I'm sittin' in class bored now waitin' to take my finals.

No - It goes to the menu after Ron's solo, Nightrain, etc. And when it gets to Madagascar, in the middle - the disc skips. I tried to rip it with MacTheRipper and it said one of the VTS3_x files was corrupt

I received mine yesterday but unfortuatley disc 2 totally freezes up and will not allow me to choose a song. i tried it on 3 dvd players.

i guess i got a dead dvd or a bad burn,,,  no hard fellings cotis, i know you had lots to burn and you couldt watch tem all before mailing.

sorry about that, watching 60+DVD's before hand as you know would have been a little extreme. i can suggest downloading from PCT or tracker.gnr.us and just selecting disc two, then burning yourself?

Anyone in the US who needs B&P of this can contact me.  I have the 2 DVD set from Cotis and I also combined it and made a dual layer disc with a new menu.  Nothing fancy, was just playing with my DVD author program to see if I could do it.

The show was fantasic but not my favorite, well my favorite would have to be halifax, since i was there,  but this was a great show
