Title: Re: Phil Collins Post by: GNR_Green on December 23, 2006, 06:16:31 PM Big fan, loved his Genesis stuff too - Land of Confusion, tune! I've heard the Disturbed cover of that song a few times and it got stuck in my head! Collins had some great tunes but I remember me dad used to listen to him, which means I can't possibly like him.Title: Re: Phil Collins Post by: bazgnr on December 23, 2006, 06:21:16 PM I remember *loving* his one live album in high school (what can I say? I'm a music fan of many artists and genres...) - the one with a live version of "Something Happened on the Way to Heaven."
Title: Re: Phil Collins Post by: Kujo on December 23, 2006, 06:44:15 PM I saw him in Saratoga Springs, NY and the Meadowlands, NJ on that tour. The man could put on a good show. Plus the stories inbetween songs were pretty funny.
Title: Re: Phil Collins Post by: freedom78 on December 27, 2006, 10:43:11 PM I'm not absolutely crazy about him but, as far as pop (meaning the style and not "popular") goes, he's one of the best.

I think he's great, both Genesis and his solo stuff. In the Air Tonight is one of the most powerful songs ever. There's another band similar to Genesis, called Mike & the Mechanics, which is pretty good too.
