Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I just wanted to create a thread so we can all thank the band and their crew for those amazing tours we've witnessed this year.

I've been to one show during the Euro tour, and as all of us, have followed the band through HTGTH. I'm so happy I've been able to see GN'R back at full strength. I've heard new material live, I've heard Axl's voice stronger than ever. I've seen a tight band, full of charisma and personality. Those guys, they deserve recognition.

So I wanted to thank Axl, Robin, Tommy, Richard, Dizzy, Brain & Frank, Chris and Ron (and Izzy) for all those great shows, and say that finally they are being rewarded through very good reviews and a shit load of enthousiasm from the fans all over the world.

Thank you guys ! And thankx to the road crew.

I think I can say that we will all be waiting for shows in 2007, and you all promoting and defending Chinese Democracy onstage.

So, It's the end of the year ... A quick list of cool things we've had :

- European Tour
- US & Canada Tour
- A brand new official site, with updates.
- New songs being played live
- Appearances from Axl here and there
- Izzy onstage with the band
- Communication from the band (from Ron, Richard and Axl himself).
- A strong band onstage, rewarded by some really positive reviews.

And of course ... A tentative release date for the album, for the first time.

2006 was a great year for the band and the fans.

it was like yesterday when i saw the interview from the korn party, then the leaks, the tour...

i bought my first ticket to see gnr live and then the show came and went. the shortest 2 and a half hours of my life and probably one of the greatest times ever.

i can't believe this year is over.

cannot express how much this year has knocked me off my feet.  I always knew that GnR would be back with a big bang and my god.

Thinking back to being 11 and desperate to see them and being too young, but knowing that one day i would get to see my favourite band of all time and 2002 was good, but 2006 was so incredible.

I feel very emotional today!  The acoustic gig in London will stay with me forever - I still feel like the luckiest gal in the world - fk the Lottery, I couldnt even begin to put a price on this year's GnR experiences. Amazing new songs, (and the excitement of the leaks), appearances and then some of the best live performances that many people have ever seen.

deepest and completest thanks to guns n' roses (and that includes their hard-working crew and of course Beta) and also to this board, the presales and the updaters have made this year brilliant too.

This year has been a great year music wise for me. I went to my first big gigs and festivals this year and had a blast. Met tons of new friends through the Download forums who I travel regularly to see and have a great time with. All of this is down to the Guns. I still remember when I went food shopping on a wednesday and decided to take a look through Kerrang quickly to see if there was any news. I literally let out a squeel of delight when I saw confirmation of GNR performing at DL. I abandoned my shopping to go home, take out a temporary overdraft limit and order tickets. Pretty much the same thing happened when the european tour dates were announced, I promptly booked tickets to as many shows as I could afford (which, sadly, was only two).
This year has been AWESOME in the GNR world and hopefully next year will be even better :beer:

WHAT A YEAR is all I can say!!? You guys fufilled the dreams of many gnr fans across the world including myself of course, and that was to live through a year where we witnessed your suprising comeback, hearing new material and playing live for us all.? This was a truly exciting year for GN'R but where does time go?? Can't believe the end of the year has come so quick, so the rest of this year deserves to be celebrated with a real bang!? I can promise ya, this year will be remembered by me for many more years to come, so thank you GN'R for all your hard work with the new material and most of all keeping the fans happy!? Thank you to the band, Izzy, Baz, the crew, and everyone in the GNR camp for giving us a magical year.  Cheers to Jarmo and the gang at HTGTH for allowing us to experience each stop on the road and for keeping GNR's internet presence strong...I know it was a lot of hard work on the site and boards this year, and everyone thanks you for your efforts in allowing this community to exist.  Thanks to all those who were thoughtful enough to send in up to the minutes updates, all those who snapped a pic, and all of you who shot some tremendous footage.  Met some fine folks at the 5 shows I was fortunate enough to attend this year.  Here's looking forward to even bigger celebrations in '07.

Thank you to GNR and everyone connected with them for making the two shows I saw this year the best concerts I've ever been to.  It's been nothing short of insane.  I never thought I'd see Axl live, and to see everyone up on stage was one of the most surreal experiences I've had in my life plus meeting Frank and Dizzy.  I'm also thankful that they went on tour this year, because I've met some awesome new friends because of that.  I can't wait until Chinese Democracy is released and they go on tour again!   : ok:

As the text below my avatar states, my dream has been realized this year.  I got to see GNR front row, not once, not twice, but THREE times.  I got to see them in concert a total of 6 times this year alone, unbelievable.  And I had been thinking I may never see GNR live ever again.  I also got to shake Axls hand outside of the Hammerstein. Again, never thought THAT would ever happen.   I've stopped saying things are impossible...cuz they have a habit of actually occuring all of a sudden.

Thank you GNR for helping my dream come true.  Next dream.....listening to CD ;D

Saw the gunners twice in New York this year. Once at hammerstein and once at MSG. MSG was the best concert I have ever been to in my life. And I have seen a shitload of shows over the years. Oh and I live in Austin, Tx. But it was worth the travel expense and time away from work. Thank You Guns n Roses for adding a huge amount of pleasure to my 2006. See all of yawl in 07! Can't wait for Chinese Democracy......Cheers......

I don't really have personal memories of live shows from this almost past year, but i'd like to thank GN'R for everything that has given to the fans in general this year, it was an amazing ride from the beginning to the end and i hope 2007 will bring for me what i missed in 2006, to finally get to see them live!!! :yes:

A big thank you to Guns n Roses for giving me the best day of my life when we went to see them in Dublin, Ireland - June 9th 2006.

Wow. What can I say?

2006 has been an amazing year.

I got to see new places, some I never ever imagined visiting (like Worcester, MA), meet a bunch of people and see GN'R live on two continents playing everything from nightclubs to race tracks. All within six months.

When the announcement of the European dates came, I figured I'd see them play maybe two shows. Two became three, three became five and so on...


I had the privilege to see the Hammersmith Apollo show in London in June and it was magical to see them in that venue. Those of you who were there, or went to any of the other smaller shows in New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco or Los Angeles, know what I mean.

When I stepped out of the airport in Lisbon on a sunny Friday afternoon in May, I had no idea what was lying ahead.

That evening, I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Lisbon to take part in the first pre-show meeting. There were many more of those during the year, each one was great.

From drinking Jack & Coke in Lisbon, to a pub in Dublin, to spilled beer at the Greyhound in Wembley, to having a cold Yuengling in a parking lot in chilly New Jersey, to a loud bar in New York, to an English pub in French speaking Canada.... Fun!

The shows ranged from huge (Lisbon, Donington Park) to tiny (Cuckoo Club).

All of the shows had one thing in common, they were great.

I thought Lisbon was amazing, but little did I know. During the six months the band has definitely gotten tighter.

At the UK shows in July, you could tell the band was tighter than in May, and then when I saw some of the North American shows, I noticed that they had gotten even tighter!


Thanks to the band, the folks around the band and the fans for an amazing 2006 tour!

great shows...way better than the ones in 2002...and i thought those were great!  I got to see them 4 times this year...and I was in the front row for 3 of them....everytime I saw them it felt like the first time I was seeing them...they never get old, never get boring....hopefully I will be able to see them a few more times in 2007!!

Although I didn't see any of the shows in 2006 it is great to see the band out and performing like they did. I hope 2007 brings really good things.

A Big MATHA FUCING thanks to GUNS N MATHA FUCKIN ROSES. I love this band with all my heart and it was a terricfic moment seeing them on cleveland.

Amazing year!

Guns N' Roses are back and better than ever! I saw them twice in Helsinki and they were the best shows of my life. I hope they come back in 2007...

We got some really promising leaked demos. Especially TWAT and Better are brilliant songs and IRS is great too.

Hopefully 2007 will be even better and Chinese Democracy is finally released.

Thanks for a kickass tour and for the best show of my life in July. I can't wait to see what's in store for 07  :peace:
