Title: MP4 to MP3
Post by: Bang Bang on December 14, 2006, 12:40:48 AM
I wanted to put a few cool GNFNR tracks onto a CD so I can listen to them in my car's CD player.  Problem is that the tracks are MP4s with a video track.  Is there a way to convert that into an MP3 file with audio only simply?

Thanks.  Hope this isn't too OT or been covered too many times...

If you are looking for something that is 100 percent freeware and only want to do a couple of tracks, you can use:

and just record the audio as you watch the video to an mp3.

Many thanks for the tips.

How about converting Winamp Media Files (Video) into audio?  Is there something special for that?

And lastly...

When making a private CD, is it sufficient to just record the MP3's onto it or do CD players use a different format?

Thanks,

Most of the products I mentioned above will also do .wmv files to audio. Most of them have trial versions that you can download to be sure, and if you were going to buy one of them, they are less than 20 dollars usually for this sort of program.

I wouldn't be too surprised to find out that there is a freeware converter as well. With the freeware program I mentioned above, what that actually does is record the audio being played out of your sound card as it plays, so it doesn't matter what the file type is. Just be sure any programs like instant messenging have their sound off while you do it, or it will record those sounds as well.

You can burn straight from mp3 to CD.
