Title: i've come to a conclusion Post by: brock on December 13, 2006, 02:55:10 PM After listening to UYI2 recently, that Civil War is PROBABLY the Best Guns N Roses song in existance...
What do you guys think? It should DEFINETLY be played on tour too! Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: T_Roxie on December 13, 2006, 03:12:57 PM Yeah it is awesome...difficult to say if it is the best though. The acoustic parts are very intricate, i love em!

The reason why axl writes about them is that his names first letters are W.A.R. :hihi: Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: Adler_Sorum_Brain on December 14, 2006, 11:04:17 AM Love it..Great drums ;D..Awsome lyrics...But izzy isn?t playing on it ::)
Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: Axl&Baz07 on December 14, 2006, 11:09:53 AM i totally agree with you! i Love that song!!
i *really* wish they would play "Civil War" during the remaining shows of this current tour. the lyrics are so relevant today!! with Axl's voice sounding a bit deeper these days (which i personally LOVE) i bet it would sound even better!! :peace: Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: freedom78 on December 14, 2006, 11:27:27 AM I don't know that it's their best, but I do love that song and would kill to hear it live.

What do you guys think?? It should DEFINETLY be played on tour too! I don't know. Locomotive is on that album, and I love that song even more than CW. Why would that be? Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: Demon Wolf on December 19, 2006, 03:21:00 PM Civil War is their best song, along with Better and Nightrain, in my opinion. It has got that epic feel, and when the piano kicks in for the final chorus.
Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: Hysteron on December 19, 2006, 03:23:33 PM I think "Civil War" is Guns N' Roses most overrated song.
Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: freedom78 on December 19, 2006, 03:25:00 PM Awesome song, to be sure, and one of my favorites. Best ever is hard to pin down, with GNR. AFD is legendary, and you could make a "their best track" argument for many songs on that album. I'm not saying it ISN'T Civil War...it could be. I honestly don't know, and can't make myself decide.

Why would that be? why wouldn't he be playing on it? i've never heard that either ??? Why would that be? why wouldn't he be playing on it? i've never heard that either ??? I think this refers to the UYI II inlay. Izzy is not mentioned playing Civil War or Locomotive, but we don't know why! When you try to play Civil War yourself you will see that this song is far away from being overrated. Great piece of music. : ok: Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: Rocksteady on December 20, 2006, 07:00:55 AM I have always thought that Civil War is way underrated. great lyrics/vocals, great guitar work, great drumming amazing really. Most of the non GN'R fans who I have introduced this song to have said that "it's great how come I have never heard it before?" There should have been video for it...

Axl changes his outfit like 4times in it if I recall and each outfit get's more ridiculous than the previous ones... Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: The Legend on January 02, 2007, 03:51:06 PM I don't think Civil War is underrated. Most GN'R fans I talk to, it's one of their favorite songs. One of the biggest complaints about Live Era for most, was no CW.
Civil War is a great song. GNR's best, no. But definitely higher up there in the rankings. I definitely think, simply because of it's classic-ness, it should rejoin the setlist, however right now, it might be viewed as an anti-war statement. Personally, Civil War is the 2nd-best CD opener for GNR, finishing very closely behind AFD's Jungle. Title: Re: i've come to a conclusion Post by: sisterofyu on January 14, 2007, 02:34:33 PM It is one of my favoriate songs too....keekee ;)
