Here Today... Gone To Hell!

i have to say up front that i don't usually post on message boards cuz what somebody has to say about something is usually already there and its just repeating.i'm more of a "lurker" i guess.but i have been reading so much whiny bullshit from everybody about chinese democracy's release date that i want to fucking puke.first off,i have been a LOYAL gnr fan and follower since appetite's video first hit mtv in '87.i saw the original lineup twice,once in 88 and again in 91(while on tour with metallica),both when i lived in Los Angeles.i now live in iowa and have seen the new lineup twice as well,in 2002 and just 11 days ago at the target center in minneapolis.the six of us were seated in section 138,row 8,seats 1-6.i did not post any reviews of the show(which from reading others it sounds as if it was the best set on the entire midwest leg of the tour)because everybody else had already said what i would say:IT FUCKING ROCKED!by far the best "set"(i say "set" because the entire show was not great,the first band,i can't remember their name,sucked,helmet sucked shit,sebastian bach kicked ass and the suicide girls were cool,especially the chick who undresses while inside that burning hoola hoop,that is something to see) i have ever seen.axl just fucking kicked major ass that night.his voice was perfect,the band is GREAT.i can honestly say i don't miss the "old" guys at all.this "new" band is something special.anywayz,back to the reason i am posting.so many of you say fuck em cuz chinese democracy hasn't come out yet,might never come out.i've read posts about not going to go see them play this tour cuz you don't have C.D. in your fucking hand.i have one thing to say about that:GET FUCKING OVER IT.if you don't realize by now,after just about 20yrs of this bullshit,this is fucking AXL ROSE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE!you all should expect this shit.yes,he is,by far,THE GREATEST FRONTMAN OF ALL TIMES,A FUCKING ROCK N ROLL GOD,but when you get on board the gnr train you should know by now that there will be MANY,MANY,MANY fucking pit stops.yes you can say he's jerking his fans around and i agree with that,but get over it.he's axl rose and is going to do whatever the fuck he wants to do.C.D. might come out,might not but you might as well enjoy the music now than turn on him because your life revolves around the release date of the record.what you need to do is stop whining,sit down,put use your illusion 2 in your cd player and listen REALLY HARD to the last few lines of get in the ring:"this song is dedicated to all the guns n fucking roses fans WHO STUCK WITH US THROUGH ALL THE FUCKING SHIT.....AND TO ALL THOSE OPPOSED.....HUH,WELL?

Firstly nice to see another long time hardcore fan posting a postive message! Secondly whilst I dont agree with every single point you have made, on the whole I do and it is a good first post because you have been there, seen it and done it as a GnR fan! Fair play on you mate! Mike

What some of us hardcore fans fail to realize is that a majority of fans going to the concerts could care less about Chinese Democracy. ?They go to the shows to see the classics from the GNR catalog. ?They leave the show saying, "I wish they played Estranged or Civil War." ?Not, "Man I can't wait for them to release the new album." ?It's a tough transition for Axl. ?So far it seems like the new band is being very well received playing the old tunes and some of the new ones. ?Don't get me wrong, I'd like to have Chinese Democracy in my hands YESTERDAY but I'm not sure what it's impact will have. ?It's a tough situation.

you don't produce at work, you don't get paid, same things goes for all the delays with CD, accountability is a way of life and if you can't keep your word then what good is your word?

yes this applies to personal relationships, like my friends.    not musicans and rock stars that I enjoy listening to.

yes i'm quite sure everyone has seen that before but it doesn't mean i can't express my fucking opinion on the subject.props to all of you who have backed me on this.i know you are the "true" gnr fans who are in it for the long haul no matter how much shit axl throws at us.i agree 100% with the guy who said  that most people who are going to the shows today are going for the nostalgia act and not so much for the "chinese democracy" shit.i have to say myself that all the new material i have heard fucking rocks.irs and better are two kick ass songs,and madagascar is one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard,right up there alongside november rain and estranged.but what i thought was amazing was that at the minneapolis show i just went to there were so many young fans there.my wife and i were sitting next to two 18yr olds who knew every word to every song.i thought FUCK YEAH!THIS FUCKING RULES!i think that just goes to show all those fucking axl and gnr haters that axl's music will stand the test of time.it reached all of us 20 fucking years ago and now its reaching todays generation.which is what axl needs.a whole new generation of gnr fans might get chinese democracy off that dusty shelf and into our hands.

good post. (the people who complain about posts like this really need to calm a little. its okay if people repeat things that have already been said, espescially if they don't post often. it's much cooler to be a GNR fan than it is to be a noob basher.)

but yeah, it doesn't make sense that "fans" complain about the band so much. i want CD to come out very badly and have for a long time, but that doesn't change anything. there are other bands i wish would do something they're not too... but in the end, you just have to be a fan of what is done and hope for whats to come. if you can go to one of these GNR shows and find something to complain about then you're either not much of a fan or you must be a pretty miserable person.

-also dude thats cool about your wife and the 18 year olds. a few years ago i was at an aerosmith cd signing and behind me online were some teenagers and in front of me was a married couple in their 50s telling me about the early shows the band did, and i remember just thinking how cool that must be for the band. i'm sure Axl feels good about that too... i think he was recently voted at the top of a "cool old people" list for some teen mag wasnt he?

the point is new posters are going to want to say things the rest of us are tired of saying. it doesn't matter if they check the board first... and besides, even if someone makes a mistake (posting a dead horse), that doesn't mean they should be jumped on and talked down to by board members. i don't care what the rules are, being nice is still something worthwhile.
this guy posted his opinion (a sound opinion from a big fan), and in about two hours FIVE replies came in criticizing him before anyone responded to what he said. leave people alone; let the moderators moderate.
