Chinese Democracy will be the greatest album ever made. My main anticipation is to experience that for the first time.

But if I had to stay on topic :hihi: I'd say This I Love.

Out of the songs we've heard I'm definitely anticipating The Blues the most. That one is going to be an instant hit if released.

With all these rumors, most of those songs probably will not be on CD. I think that about 1/2 of them could be ones we never heard of before.

Too bad Finck wrote it. :hihi:

"The General" sounds really cool to me. I envision a very soft and melodic verse and then a really hard but epic chorus. Don't know why, but it's the only song I've kind of pictured out of all the names I've seen.

Title: Re: Most anticipated track from cd?

Prostitute and The General have always been spoken of very highly when people who have heard the tracks have commented, almost everyone involved with the album over the years (current or ex members) have said to look out for Prostitute. This I Love would have to be up there considering Axls comments on the song all those years ago, whether we'll ever hear it though is another matter.

Catcher in the rye without a doubt is one of the best gnr songs ever made (in my opinion). Which tracks are you guys eagerly awaiting????

one of the best GNR songs ever made?? Catcher in the Rye fuckin blows...at least the mix we heard so far...IRS, BEtter, The blues ,Rhiad,  Madagascar, Chinese Democracy all BLOW that song away... i mean in my opinion anyway...if you like the song thats cool, Im just not into it....especially when you hear how brilliant all the other new songs are....but i will say again, the mix we have is bad..i definately see potential for the song to be great...but as of right now the other demos/live songs are light years better...in my opinion of course

hey i think Catcher in the Rye is easily one of the best gnr songs ever made too!!!? those lyrics are fantastic and the guitar work by brian may is out of this world. i also love the synth in it.

by the way didn't richard fortus say in an email that Catcher will indeed be on the album? i could have sworn i read that somewhere.

For me, it's There Was a Time.  Especially with the intro. from the '06 tour, not the demo.
I had tears in my eyes on the 1st listen of the demo, but the live intro is even better.  :'(

That said, every god damn song is what I'm anxious to hear!   :peace:

Catcher in the rye sounds so much like queen song to me. And not just because Brian May played on the song. It is arranged and totally has that feel to me. I think the final mixed version of TWAT is going to be great. With the beautiful strings in the background brought more into the mix. I cannot wait to hear all of the unreleased stuff. Think it is all going to be awesome. No doubt a fucking masterpiece.

We only have a poor quality version of it... I'd prefer the best songs be on the CD so that the official release is a complete package of top notch material.  Since I personally think CITR is one of the best GNR songs written, I would hope it makes the cut (especially since it looks like CD or IRS will be on -- far weaker tracks)

I''m really suprised that CITR gets the love/hate response that it does..I personally love the song. It could be one of the best of the leaks along with TWAT.

?I wanted hear some response from the people that have heard IRS live. I don't know... I'm sure it will grow on me and maybe later on I'll love it but right now IRS does nothing for me but really nothing and that has never really happened to me with a GNR song. I think is the tempo of the song each time you think it will kick in and go overdrive it slows down again and what not. Very anti-climax.

Is it a kick ass song live? you know it could be one of those songs that you have see/hear live to totally appreciate.

Cheers

IRS is fucking awesome live. I have heard it live twice this year and the second time I swear it was one of the new songs that brought the house down. i'm actually surprised everyone here loves catcher in the rye, i thought it was the collective opinion that this was the weakest leaked track.  i mean compared to there was a time and better, hell even IRS (which live is beyond sick) the song really isn't that strong.

i only hope the CD version is alot more powerful, because it seems to have potential with some more work.

well i mean catcher does seem to fade out, so maybe its a little longer. also, a properly mixed version would really showcase the cool synth and guitar work as well as the other cool things going on in the background? that kinda sound sludgy and distant due to the shitty quality and the fact its a demo. i personally think the song is amazing. it would be a real shame if it were left out on the album.

I'm not talking out of my ass... at least I don't think I am. Can't provide a link- but a boardmember spoke to Stinson at a charity concert type thing for the Ramones in New York 5-6 years ago and asked him if anything on Chinese Democracy was on par with SCOM... and Stinson said: "Yes. 'Prostitute'". Now that original poster may have been "talking out of his ass"... but it seemed legit and I've sure as hell never forgotten it. As has been mentioned- others who've heard it or worked on it have also been glowing...

Anyway- if it's not as good as SCOM- I'm not going to hunt Stinson down or anything....  :hihi: I'm just pumped for the fucking track.

thanks in advance and peace out

Sorry - Reminds Bach of doom metal with Axl singing in a clean voice on top. It's mean, and he can't get it out of his head Bach says.

Prostitute - Rumoured to be the best track on CD. Highly talked about by band members. I think someone described it as fire and ice.

The General - A song with Brain influences. Said to be powerfull.

Seven - Marco Belatrami claimed it to be the best of the songs he worked on (Thyme, Seven and a couple more). Most likely involves alot of string work. Probably an epic in the veins of Estranged and NR.

If The World - Is most likely on the album, but we know nothing about it.

But why do you want to know this, after all:

but back to Chinese Democracy... happy listening on the 19th. This monster is coming (on the 19th of this December) and you can quote me on that. i should know i'm with the band.

Chinese Democracy will be the greatest album ever made. My main anticipation is to experience that for the first time.

But if I had to stay on topic :hihi: I'd say This I Love.
i will definitely agree with you on this one man.if and when chinese democracy comes out,i believe the music industry as we know it is going to change.the NEW gnr is something special.the guys axl has hand-picked for this band are great.something big will happen if it comes out.i know it.10 plus yrs of waiting for all us long-time fans and i don't give a fuck what some of you say the second you hear that the record is out you will be on a direct route to your local best buy with money in hand, just as i will, heart beating so fast and i'll probably have a fucking hard-on i'll be so fucking excited.its very smart what axl has done, depending on how you look at it and if the recored comes out,but touring a couple times over the last 5yrs playing the new material not only will he have the millions of us long-time fans buying it all the millions of new gnr fans will be running to their local record store as well.it will sell millions.that's a guarantee.but sticking to topic,i would have to say i am looking forward to the material that i have not heard yet.

Not to be a downer, but I don't know how anyone can say that these guys are great song writers.  Perhaps they are great musicians and performers, but I don't think that translates to great song writing.

That said, being on topic - I suppose the songs I anticipate the most are Prostitute and This I Love.  I first heard of Prostitute in the Spin article titled "What the World Needs Now is Axl Rose".  Moby mentioned that this was a song Axl was struggling with as Axl thought it was a big hit.   This I Love was mentioned in Rolling Stone by Axl as the "heaviest" thing he ever wrote.

what fucking post are you reading?who said anything about songwriting?i will have to guess that you are probably 15yrs old and probably not even born when AFD was released because if you knew anything you would know that axl rose needs NO FUCKING HELP writing his music.yes the musicians he has chosen are EXCELLENT performers and are all DEFINITE players.i believe that your post has insulted the band and especially axl rose.and what is with this "perhaps"they are great musicians and performers?you obviously have not seen the band live.go back to elementary school.

Chinese Democracy will be the greatest album ever made. My main anticipation is to experience that for the first time.

But if I had to stay on topic :hihi: I'd say This I Love.
i will definitely agree with you on this one man.if and when chinese democracy comes out,i believe the music industry as we know it is going to change.the NEW gnr is something special.the guys axl has hand-picked for this band are great.

This I Love was mentioned in Rolling Stone by Axl as the "heaviest" thing he ever wrote.
what fucking post are you reading?who said anything about songwriting?i will have to guess that you are probably 15yrs old and probably not even born when AFD was released because if you knew anything you would know that axl rose needs NO FUCKING HELP writing his music.yes the musicians he has chosen are EXCELLENT performers and are all DEFINITE players.i believe that your post has insulted the band and especially axl rose.and what is with this "perhaps"they are great musicians and performers?you obviously have not seen the band live.go back to elementary school.

what? Axl can't write the riffs needed for guitar can he? thats where he relies on the other guys to write them. thus the reason they need good song writing skills.

EDIT:and just because they can play an improved version of slashs solo doesnt prove their good song writers

Robin's playing lead Axl to write the best song of his career so I think that translates to great songwriting ability...

I would like to hear Something Always.  This sounds like the title of a very catchy track.

I'm 34 years old and apparently know a lot more than you apparently.  Axl is a great singer, singwriter, etc.  However, to imply that he wrote AFD by himself is just ignorant.  If he never met Saul Hudson, there would be no SCOM, ISE was written by Duff, Brownstone by Izzy, and the list goes on and on,  The old bad was very much colloborative.  My point was that being a great "technical player" done not NECESSARILY translate into being a great songwriter.  Broadly speaking, this could be the greatest album ever, however, but nit because these guys play the guitar technically well.  You seem a little stressed.
