I want to decode some FLACs to MP3 to put them on my iPod. What's the best program to use?

I took your advice EFISH and did the same thing.  With all of those HUGE flac's replaced with mp3's on my comp, I save so much fucking room.  I try to convert my mp3's to less than 128kbs to save even more room.

Yeah and they sound the same as FLAC's. I really dont understand the crazy obsession with them. Ill never download a FLAC again, so useless.

I think people that hate mp3's are prejudice.  It's no different than hating another race of people.  People that hate mp3's only hold this world down even further.

Well, I try to at least go to 192 k/b - I mean, they're a little bigger, but not as big as FLAC!

I also like iTunes' format too. .AAC - CD quality stuff!  :peace:

A LOT!!!!  DO IT BANDITA!!!  You will feel so much better about yourself.  I actually felt that converting all of my lossless audio to mp3 was very uplifting... a great spiritual experience.  Now I search for FLAC's just so I can convert them to mp3.

Yeah, sometimes I go big and download DVD and convert them to .wmv and 22kbps audio because it fits great on my hardrive! I think the whole GNR trading community should do this, itll save people alot of money with external drives!

I used to take all of these meds and have all kinds of serious illnesses but when the mp3 came into my life, all that bad stuff went away.  It was like all of that shit was just a bad dream.  My life has meaning now and the mp3 is my guide.  I will never convert him to anything, NEVER EVER!!! 

I was thinking of converting all my DVDs to AVI files, what should I use, homeslices? :peace:

I agree... well I would if I had a DVD player.  I prefer my VHS to anything.  You just can't beat the quality and the tape won't get scratched up like a stupid DVD will.  I bought a smaller hard drive because the one I had was just too overwhelming for me.  My little mp3's fit in there so perfectly and completely snug as a bug in a rug. 

Oh did I mention I broke up with my girlfriend for an IPOD yesterday??  I love having my little mp3 friends with me everywhere I go.

I heard that .wma is the highest quality audio format. Is this true homies?  Flac sucks right?

I do like wma files, I admit it.  They are so tiny themselves and save even more room than mr. mp3 does.  I think mr. mp3 and mr. wma should join up and kick mr. flac's fucking ass.  People that start wars listen to flac.  People that drop 'bombs' listen to flac.  My peaceful friends and I... listen to lossy audio.  Do you think God sits up in heaven listening to fucking FLAC'S??  HELL FUCKING NO HE DOESN'T!!!  He ONLY listens to mp3's and wma files.  FLAC listeners will burn in hell for eternity.

FLAC = the actual recording

MP3/WMA = the recording minus everything over a certain level, essentially: NOT ALL THE AUDIO DATA

Converting all of your flacs to mp3 also makes them completely unable to be traded.

You can burn them on cd when you have Nero. After that,rip them to your computer in mp3.

Your right. There is a difference in sound between mp3 and flac. With flac the sound is much better and there are no clicks between songs. It all fits smooth together with flac.

If anyone wants to test this out take a silver CD rip it, convert it to MP3 or WMA then burn it to CDR and then compare the two discs when played back on a proper HI-FI system, if you can't hear the difference, I would suggest it is time to upgrade, as you would probably won't be getting the full sound from your CD's.

Having said that MP3's are great for the PC or for in car use as it's almost impossible to get perfect sound in a car, and most PC sound cards cannot give you the level of detail a decent HI-FI system can.

Also with audience recorded bootlegs sometimes you cannot tell much of a difference when converted to MP3 depending on the quality of the recording. But why degrade these recordings by converting to MP3?

And yes I do use MP3's on my PC, but would never burn them to disc.? :peace:


Please no :no: one of the things I like most about the GN'R trading community is the amount of uncompressed DVD's that are available on the different trackers. Several of these I already had as .avi files, as I have not had broadband internet for very long. needless to say they were promptly deleted from my hard drives. :beer:

But don't you see??  THAT is why mp3's are so much better.  The clicks are just an added bonus that you don't get with FLAC files.  I love the clicks during songs and I usually find myself clicking my fingers to the sound of the clicks in an mp3.  It's like getting more for you money.  Music with clicks>music without clicks. 

I dont really like mp3's anymore.

I'm more of a .wma kinda guy now.

Just think about this for a second:
FLAC file: About 60mb
WMA file: About 300kb

You can have about 200 wma songs for ONE flac!

Maybe the quality is a LITTLE worse but look at the difference!

I feel so smart for coming up with this magic plan. The GNR trading community will thank me one day.

Wow, we never said anything about TimeBomb.  Why would you bring that up then??  Do you want to make fun of him??  I've never made fun of him, so why would I start now?? It's not very nice to make stupid assumptions about something you have no idea about.  TimeBomb is a good friend of ours and I don't like when people make fun of others less fortunate than they are.  So I welcome TB to come to this thread and say what he wants because whatever he decides to say will be met with the utter most respect.  Now stop dreaming about us making fun of somebody!!
