Title: Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs Post by: Oh My Choking Soul on December 01, 2006, 08:24:22 AM Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs
When we post "shit list"s it's usually 'cause they're undeniably shitty. (Greatest Punk Albums, anyone?) But College Humor's suggestions for best songs to belt while blasted ain't bad! Their criteria included: immediately recognizable opening, easy to remember lyrics, and killer solo for air guitarring (their words, we approve). Here's the list (via Whitney): 5. "Paradise City" - Guns N' Roses 4. "Baba O'Riley" - The Who 3. "Sweet Home Alabama" - Lynyrd Skynyrd 2. "Livin' On A Prayer" - Bon Jovi 1. "Don't Stop Believin'" - Journey Now dig deep for a remembrance of drunken-nights past, and hit us with your favorite tunes to booze and croon to. Let karaoke be your guide. http://stereogum.com/ Title: Re: Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs Post by: Orgasmatron on December 01, 2006, 08:27:56 AM I'd agree with that.. Paradise City would be pretty easy to follow even when you're drunk : ok:
Title: Re: Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs Post by: Death Cube K on December 01, 2006, 08:28:23 AM I have alwayed enjoyed 'It's so easy' as a drunken sing along, alongside 'Shout at the devil' by the Crue.
Title: Re: Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs Post by: Oh My Choking Soul on December 01, 2006, 08:31:32 AM I agree with all of them except "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. I am Canadian so "New Orleans Is Sinking" by the Tragically Hip will always, always be Number 1.

...but I guess the lack of killer air guitar solo is why! Title: Re: Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs Post by: wharfy11 on December 01, 2006, 08:48:13 AM Tonight i'm gonna have myself a real good time........
Don't Stop Me Now should be in any top 5 lists if not number 1. I'll say that Top Gun has turned "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" into one. Last time I checked I'm entitled to my own opinion, plus every song means something different to everybody so this is a completely ambiguous thread.... thus there are no "terrible choices." Title: Re: Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs Post by: Eazy E on December 03, 2006, 10:24:02 PM Last time I checked I'm entitled to my own opinion, plus every song means something different to everybody so this is a completely ambiguous thread.... thus there are no "terrible choices." The thread isn't "list your favourite songs" or "top 5 songs you can't stop listening to". If you listed those songs in one of those threads I wouldn't think twice about it... It's also not a song that YOU personally sing along with while drunk, it's a communal thing. If less than 1% of people will sing a long to the song, that's a terrible choice in my opinion. It also doesn't mean the song is bad, just that it doesn't rank high as a "drunken sing along". Actually, I can't believe this even needs explaining. Yeah, I could see why people were posting the songs they did... it just sucks that so many threads in this section turn into a bunch of "lists" with no discussion or comments. :-\ Title: Re: Top Five Drunken Sing-Along Songs Post by: D on December 05, 2006, 04:38:19 AM I dont drink but ive been around plenty of drunks and here is a list.

You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC also. Family Tradition by Hank Williams Jr. Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks (I utterly hate this song, but have yet to find a person that doens't know it) Nightrain is probably the most popular GNR song.
