Title: Cities You'd Like to See on the Next Leg of the Tour
Post by: kyrie on November 28, 2006, 08:02:26 PM
So I'm hearing a lot of "wah they canceled a show" from people who weren't even going to Milwaukee, and who probably haven't been to a show period (if you had, you'd probably notice Axl keeping a box of snotrags onstage and honking into 'em between songs).

So how about something different?

What cities should GNR hit on the next leg of the tour?

I for one would like to see:

Hamilton, ON, Canada (Played on the Skin N' Bones tour, Copps Colluseium)
London, ON, Canada (Sold out in 2002)
Montreal, Quebec, Canada (GNR had a hold on the venue for November but they did QC)
Victoria, B.C., Canada (Well it ain't gonna be Vancouver)
Dallas, Texas, U.S. (large market)
Kansas City (there was talk of this show before)

My guitar teacher said since they did a lot of smaller markets a lot of time the band comes back to the bigger one. Hopefully that means Boston, because I'd like to go to a concert where I can actually hear him :hihi:.

Since I live in central Illinois, the closest they would probably come to would be:
St. Loius (Not Likely)
Indianapolis

Chicago is a bit further away than these two.  Actually, if they wanted to play in Champaign that would be nice :P  Less of a drive anyways.

True very true. But consider this, i dont drive and the concert was on a monday night. Even if i did drive, there is no way i would drive 30 minutes to a concert in an unknown arena. DC is more ideal because its our nations capital and it would attract many people. There is no way they can ignore dc

Same place I was going to say...and, I'd also like, Bloomington, MN (even though there isn't a place to play here, n' they wouldn't do the MOA even though that would bring the most people since 2000)

Um...Stillwater, Lumberjack Days (Even though the band couldn't fit on the floating stage)
Brainard International Raceway, Elko Speedway.

That's about it.

Austin, Texas.....The live music capital of the world! They haven't played here since 91 on one of the illusion tour legs......Supposed to have been a great show.....I was too young at the time to go......But Austin is a huge music market.....the Stones came here in October and they sold 45000 tickets for a outdoor park show....If Guns can play all those small east coast markets why not.......There are a million people in the Austin metro area.....

I'd like to see the folks in Pittsburgh, Vancouver, and Nashville get shows also.

I'm kind of surprised that Denver was skipped on this leg... I'd like to see them get a show.

Aren't they banned for life due to the '91 riot at UMB Bank Pavilion (aka Riverport Ampitheater)?

I would love to see them back in STL though.  Also, Oklahoma City or Little Rock (the Stones played there and almost sold out).

MileOne Centre in St. John's, NL.  Not a large arena (7,000), but it would sell out in a few hours (hell, INXS sold it out in 2+ hours, while Pearl Jam did it in 15 minutes).  Get GNR in here and we'll have a great time.  It'd be a guaranteed success.  If they played Saint John, NB there's no reason why they can't play St. John's, NL.

For the band, that'd be a great move. Personally i'd rather see Dolphins Stadium (easier for me to get to), but with like 70,000 seats, that far too big of a venue. They played it in '91, but that was a long time ago when they ruled the world.

Ok. Chicago of course but I would like them to play during the summer at the new outdoor stadium located downtown - can't believe I can't think of the name right now - I think it's Charter One Pavillion - you can go to the back of the Pavillion and hear all the bands that play there for free on the beach - just can't see them - but the sound and atmosphere is incredible. I've been to a couple shows there.

I'd also like to see them at Summerfest, imagine seeing bands all day, then topping off with the Gunners!

And actually, Mexico or Jamaica, which I would travel and have myself a nice vacation too!

Come back soon Axl!

GNR wont come to Lexington, they would go to Cincy which is an hour away and all the Ky people and Cincy people could go.

I could see maybe Louisville though.

THese are places I could see GNR:

Lexington,Ky
Louisville Ky
Cincinnati OH
Nashville,Tn
Knoxville Tn
Atlanta Ga
Chattanooga Tn

pick one Axl any one.

im a KY boy. ?I say if they come to this state it will be Lexington. ? ?GnR have played KY twice, once in L-ville, in the 80's opening for Alice Cooper. ?and once in Lexington in 1991. ?they had a show scheduled for Lexington in 2002 but they changed the city. ?

does anyone know if all the shows they have played on this US tour been general admission. ?because if they are, and they come to KY, they will play Rupp Arena in Lexington since shows there are usually general admission.  granted i havent been there for a long time.  personally i hope they make their way to Freedom Hall in Louisville.  i live closer to Louisville and its just the better city anyway

Washington, DC.  We have the Verizon Center.  Why they chose Baltimore over Washington perplexes me.
