Just got off the phone with my label connection...

Seems there are some un-cleared copyright photo and image issues with the artwork on Chinese Democracy. The shipments are being held right now at the processing plant awaiting a hopeful legal "go ahead." The lawyers for all 3 parties are trying to work this out. If the images are not cleared they will need to redo millions of CD sleeves,etc.

Looks like the 28th has been delayed - technically not my fault...

I don't know, considering how much backlash the band will get if the album is not out this year, I find it hard to believe that it's being held up because of the artwork, although with this band you never know.

Well, if its true we'll have CD in our hands on Tuesday and no problems, or we won't have it since its delayed

Given how utterly painstaking and meticulous the entire recording and re-recording of this album has been in every respect, I find it hard to believe that last minute copyright issues for the *artwork* would grind things to a halt at this point. ?Surely someone along the GnR line thought about this before it got to this point. ?I'm hoping it's not true, but one never knows...

It wouldn't suprise me, the copyright holder has the management over a barrel if anything is vaguely amiss, they want the album out (and so do we...) but until all matters are resolved the album stays put... the wait goes on

Just to add, things like the cancelled show a week or two back, who'd of thought it eh!, surely they (the management would have known about drinking on stage et al - how many weeks (or should I say minutes) notice was given......

Having over 20 years in the printing industry I have personally witnessed f*?k (see what I did there ;))ups before, how many lawyers read newspapers before they go to print? how come they papers are always full of retractions, believe me as King George(I think) said " Publish and be dammed" don't think the record company can afford to do that with this one folks

Why cant the gnr camp just give us the damn release date. I am tired of coming to the boards and reading these bullshit rumors that people are just making up. There are only a few weeks left in the year, if the album got pushed off to 2007 like most are claming cept for the gnr camp, then say it. I disagree.  People would make new rumors that say that the last statement from managment has been changed.

You are kidding right? If gnr.com said tomorrow that CD will be out Dec 12th and gave the track listing, and the BS rumors would stop. There would be nothing to make up . And no oen would believe some tool saying oh it got changed because if that were true management would make a statement before that person.

Nope, I'm not kidding at all. ?GNR 'fans' make shit up all the time, and would do everything they can to get attention. ?We'd hear something about a problem that is delaying the album and gnr managment doesn't want to admit it. ?Alot of people want to believe the worse, so some people will believe it.

I agree.   And the band is not blameless.   But I still say the blame for the situation rests with the fans. 

I know what you are saying but 99% of the BS rumors would stop. Sure you would get 1% but no one would believe that person.

They have given you information: It will come out this year and it's not the end of the year yet. If you choose to come here, read every rumour from a non-official source and get upset that's your problem not theirs.  They have better things to do than make a statement every time a rumour is posted on the net (roughly once/minute) like playing concerts. The album will come at the same time for all of us, I don't know why some people take it so personally.

Blame the fans for what? We have been waiting for this CD since 2000 when Axl said it should be out that summer. I think 6 years is a ton of patience. Its only this last time the die hards are starting to get pissed off and we have every right to be esp if it doesnt come out this year. This is the first time (not having a release date in Nov for an album that has been saying since Jan will be out in 2006) I and others have ever been negative and spoke out about it the whole new era of this band since 1999.?

Blame the fans for :

* Starting rumours
* Faking web pages
* Faking news statements
* Spreading gossip like a bunch of 14 year old girls
* Taking tidbits of information from KNOWN incredible (meaning lacking credibility) sources and spreading it as though it was believable.
* Even making FAKE leaks ffs.

What does that all come back to? Managment NOT giving out any info that every other band does. And when we get a tid bit of info like that del james article, what happens? Merck freaks and pulls it off the offical site.  You keep making my point stronger and stronger and I thank you for t hat
