there are many energetic performances from axl. principle you can't compare them 'cause in the end they are pretty much different at different gigs. depending on axl's mood.  :)

Sorry to ask you that, Demon Wolf, but...

How old are you?

Are you 15?

Were you even born in 1991?

i'd put Welcome To The Jungle at the VMA's in '88 up there too, axl was out of control, utterly posessed.

Of course you are born in 1989. That explains why you are not affected by original GNR.
I was in my teens in 1989, I was deeply affected by Guns n' Roses, like some guys here on this board. That was the best band ever, period. I am sorry you couldn't enjoy GN'R back then. I am also sorry that you can't see the beauty of that band, the magnificence of those years (87-91) when you watch a youtube video. I tell you what: you should try get that concert on DVD, it is available and it just rocks. I am telling you this because you may not realise but you are just missing the greatest rock n' roll band ever. This band that Axl has today is good, very good, and they can play the shit out of those songs, like Axl said himself, but they didn't write Appetite and they didn't write Lies and they didn't write Illusions and the songs on these albums and the guys that wrote them are everything that makes Guns n' Roses the best band ever. Nobody can remake that - even the original guys couldn't recreate that if they wanted to. God knows that those guys on GN'R II worked hard to become Guns n' Roses but even the rocks at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean know that they are not. Axl? He seems to be pretty happy these days, and I hope he is. But his voice - and his attitude, and himself - will never be the same as it was on those days. I am as far away from Axl as most of the people in this board - or in this world - but I am sure that one of the best and craziest days of Axl's (and GNR's) life was exactly that night on Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, January 23, 1991. They were right on the top of the world - not only the most loved band but also the best band in the planet - and they were headlining the biggest rock n' roll festival ever in front of some 150.000 - 200.000 people. So don't let a cheap youtube video foll you. Do yourself a favor and get your hands on a decent copy of that show (Rock in Rio II, 1991, second night) on DVD and then just watch it. And then please tell me what blows what out of water.
