It's obviously not as good as Axl's vocals on it, but the song sounds great musically. They were out there having fun, why should they never be able to play it again. I think it is a nice treat to see them play something old school like that we don't see them do often.

They can play it as long as its not with people like chester bennington. At least pick a rocker to do it with not some newmetal assclown.

that was sick! He's got the tune down just not such a powerful voice. if onl he'dditch Linkin Park and form a good band (although they promise straight forward rock for their next album, produced by rick rubin).

i tihkn chester sang that really great. it doesnt matter what bands he from, you cant knock his singing on that song. However he was boring he didnt really do much.

Never thought id see that happen.

I think he's does a pretty decent job. I like his melodic sounding voice.

Music wise it beats the crap out of the New Guns........

Well, Slash and Duff were pretty involved in writing it, so one would think they might play a decent sounding version.

Come on dude ... open your ears.  Chester is a great vocalist.  He's no Axl Rose, but he's fucking good at what he does!  Sounded great in my opinion.  Was good to hear the old guys playing it too ...

Let's not continue this line of discussion, plenty of comparison threads looming in the Dead Horse section.

Thats your opinion, mine is he sucks. I'm entitled to it as you are your's.

If New GNR can play the original band's music, then Slash and Duff can perform with whoever.

Chester is a good frontman, His vocals get annoying at times, but Linkin Park are a pretty damn good band regardless of what people say.

Why do you ^^ even post in here dude? We all know you love the new band and get overly upset every time someone says anything that sugests the old band being better than the new guys(especially Finck) so why come in here and try and do what you're doing?  the golden rule dude. You don't like it when it's done to the new band so don't do it to the old band. Especially if you knew what you were going to post before you even watched it. ;)  Unless you were just talking about Chester's performance than I apologies. :peace:

Anyways Chester did a great job I think. He sounded better than Baz when he covered for Axl.  I love watching these guys play the old material. They did it with half the musicians and it sounded justa s good. How anyone could knock this is beyond me. Nice video. Thanks for posting.

Slash still owns up man.. the new band makes the old songs sound great.. but its definitly different.

Not better or worse.. just different. Nice to hear it the old way... haven't heard it in awhile. Not that the new way sounds bad.

 I think this kid is one of the better writers of his generation; I have enjoyed everything of his I have heard. He is not afraid to take risks and mix mediums I find it refreshing.

He now has a proper respect for Ax?s breath control, which is not easily imitated. It is one thing to sing along another entirely to take the lead with the original players.  Not a bad rendition and certainly Duff and Slash are entitled to play this music, the comment this should never be done is ridiculous. Working with the next generation is an obligation, perhaps if the sixties musicians had been more available to the musicians of the late eighties and nineties it would not have been such a train wreck. It is never to late to change that isolationism ?I?m to cool for school? mentality moving forward. It served no one and caused more harm than good.

This guy can sing. I'm not a Linkin Park fan and I don't think he has a unique voice but did a good job on the song. You know, when you play a GN'R tune, it's impossible to replace the talent of Axl (and Slash), but he was quite good.

i like slash's solos more than robin, but im pretty sure robin can do the same thing, he just switches it up not to make it look like too much of a slash copy.  i thought it was ok but damn chester really sucks nuts. 

Awesome seeing them play that song. I wish VR would play some other Gn'R tunes once in awhile.. I would still love to see them rocking out Rocket Queen or something. I don't know much about  that singer but I thought he did pretty good.

Thanks for the link. While I'm not a fan of LP I will say that Chester can sing, and I always did. He did a great job on all of the songs, Paradise City,  Highway to Hell and Whole Lotta of Love.

It was nice to Slash and Duff play PC with somebody that can actually sing. While I didn't mind Cypress Hill,  I much pefer Chester.  I hope they play some different Guns classics when VR tour again.

chester is okay, hes a decent singer. it really made me appreciate axl more tho since all chester did was stand there and we all now how crazy axl is on stage, part of the reason why i love him so much.

That was fukin awsome. How good was it to see slash play some gnr again? God i miss the old band the real guns n roses so much. The guy singin was a clown though. GNR should just get back together, imagine how big the tour would be if that happened?

Unfortunately I just don't know if it will ever happen..  But you are right, they could sell out two shows a city easily.. in minutes...
