VR's album will no doubt be out before CD anyways.

How come most of you guys on here cant like both 'GNR' and Velvet Revolver?

Agreed. Most of the leaks sound bloated and some lyrics are complacent.

I'd agree there too. Although Scott's lyrics are pretty terrible.

Looking more forward to Libertad than CD I reckon. Wont be so much piano....

VR can do whatever they want, i'm not interested. i've listen to their album once, i'll never do the same mistake again.
i'll wait for CD

Should give it a chance. You cant get an objective view on something if you only listen to it once.

Unless of course your one of the many who doesnt acknowledge that GNR existed before 2002.

i'm a GnR fan since 1988, i've listen to VR [their cd and lots of youtube tunes], and i'm not interested  anymore.  i have nothing against Slash and Duff but Weiland sucks big time. and is nothing you can do about it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and my personal opinion is this. The new GNR-songs are far superior to everything I've heard from Velvet Revolver, Scott Weilands singing really annoys me...

And lyric-wise, the new GNR songs have far better lyrics than the VR ones.

Scott's problem is similar to Axl's: they are not as good without their former bandmates.  Scott was awesome in STP and his voice went better with the DeLeo bros music.  His mistake was getting clean and sober (hahaha).  Axl made better music with Izzy, Slash, and Duff.  His mistake was letting his control issues get the best of him and ruin the musical legacy of the band.  Unfortunately, VR and the new GNR is what we get.  Oh yeah, the new GNR songs are not far superior to VR; they are both subpar.

I agree with your post, dallasgel. Unlike VR, Axl's gnr is making concessions to nu-metal (Better)... Not something to be proud of !

More generally, Axl's gnr songs are more in an epic, prog rock vein whereas VR is pure rock'n'roll.

Contraband is the biggest turd ever, and this coming from a great STP fan !

New gnr is on a whole different level... VR is like all the other supergrousp.. like army of anyone or audioslave... mediocre, safe-bet... not too experimental,  not daring at all... boring albums

Apart from the turd comment, this represents my views.

Probably better than you. When I listen to the leaks I wonder if Axl thinks he joined Rush or Limp Bizkit.

Contraband was awesome hands down.. Some people just don't want to like it.. Scott's vocals are great on that album. As for the new Gn'R tracks.. Most of those do truly suck. I did like Madagascar and CD when I heard them like 5 years ago... But Rhiad and Silkworms were absolutely terrible. Then I heard IRS and and some of Better and that was enough to assure me that I never have to listen to another New GnR song again.

I love the new band, VR is cool, but they lack the creativity that new GNR has....is obvious from the old GNR stuff, that the band wrote rockin tunes and Axl added that intangible, that Scott definately is not even close to having
